I grabbed a apple and set it on my tray next to my sandwich and made my way to a empty table to sit down.
"Why are you sitting alone?" someone asked from behind me. I spun around, although I already knew who was standing there.
"Lexi!" I cried, wrapping my arms around her. She laughed and sat down next to me.
"Welcome back, tramp." lexi said, smiling. I laughed at the old nickname.
"I thought you would leave me." I said quietly.
"Leave you? For what? Being kidnapped?" Lexi said, just as Ethan walked up. His face grimaced in pain as he sat next to me. I took his hand under the table and squeezed it lightly, staring him in the eyes. I looked back at lexi and smiled faintly.
"Everyone else did. They think I'm a freak. I'm glad you didn't leave me." I said, glancing down at my hand as Ethan grasped it tightly. I cringed and pulled my hand back as his hand squeezed mine tightly.
"Ow, Ethan." I said, staring at him in shock. He blinked and looked up at me.
"What?"
"Your hurting me." I said. Recognition filled his eyes and he quickly released my hand.
"I'm sorry." he said, getting up and leaving the table. I stared after him as he dumped his tray and left the cafeteria.
"um...who is that?" lexi asked.
"He's new here. We've known eachother for...awhile."
"When did you meet?"
"before...." I answered. Lexi nodded quickly and took a bite of her hotdog. I looked at my hand as the red marks started changing pale again and stared at the door, wondering what was wrong with my one true love.
Ethan's POV
I can't do it. I can't hurt her like this. If only she knew. If only I knew that I would fall for her.
