Dan cuddled up closer to Phil and sighed happily. They sat on the grass atop a hill, watching the sun say its last farewell to the world. The sky was painted with oranges and reds and purples. Birds soared the everlasting sky, the mountains, and valleys. It was perfect.

"How do you feel Dan? It's been almost a year"

Dan looked up at Phil and tears swelled up in his eyes. His lips parted as he began to speak but couldn't manage to say anything. He couldn't control himself any longer and the tears that were bound to fall did just that.

"You know that feeling when you're so happy? So unbelievably ecstatic and full of joy? It's like I forgot what the word sad meant. I forgot that depression existed in my vocabulary. There is nothing but bliss in my mind, erasing bad thoughts away and calming my nerves and I'm just so- Do you understand?" Dan sobbed.

Phil smiled as if Dan had given him the world.

And, in truth, Dan really did give him that.
