ELEVEN
Before heading home, Ashley went and checked on the Asian family. They were being fed, sitting in a booth that was public but private at the same time. Finding Micah, Micah said that the family seemed honest and wanted nothing more from Ashley than for her to take them away from Suresha. He also told Ashley that the family had a wide range of gifts. Slava could create a mental blast. Nikon was an expert archer and he never missed his target. Vald could harden his skin. And Galina could see future events. Tanya had no gift.
So, trusting Micah's judgement, and knowing that having the family on her side with all of their gifts would give herself and her vampyre's more if a war between herself and Ravin or Suresha ever truly happened. Ashley agreed to take them.
When she told the family, the relief in their eyes made Ashley weary. What was going on in Suresha's head? What was he doing to scare his own vampyre's so much? But, at least she had one answer and two problems instead of no answers.
Her answer was, yes, Suresha was insane. Which meant that she and Ravin would have to deal with him soon. But that now meant that she and Ravin had a vampyre they couldn't sense, and an original that was now insane.
Ashley knew that they had to take out Anya first. She was the largest threat at the moment. Suresha was, yes, a threat, but he was only killing his own which didn't matter too much because his vampyre's were going to die anyway when Ashley and Ravin killed him. Ashley sighed, did they have to go insane at the same time? In a way, Ashley wondered when she and Ravin would go insane from their age. But, they were made to survive this long. So, what had Suresha been thinking? He'd never had a mate, so it wasn't that, unless he'd kept his mate hidden. But that wasn't Suresha's style. If he had something, he liked to flaunt it.
Ashley came back to the present. "Come with me."
Leading the family, Ashley took them into the back where it was soundproof. When Micah had been telling her what he thought about the family, she'd asked him if she could use one of the back rooms to change them in, of course, he'd said yes. And because he'd sounded like he meant it, Ashley didn't drag the family into the surrounding fields to change them.
Changing the vampyre's to being hers was easy. It was exactly the same as it had been to change them from human to vampyre. An exchange of blood, however, because they were already vampyre, they didn't need a victim to feed from because they already knew control. They would just have to feed from another bag. Another slight difference was that Ashley couldn't just suffocate them or snap their necks because it wouldn't work, instead, she had to tear out their throats until it was only just hanging, only just connected to the body. Once the transition to being hers was complete, Ashley healed the family's throats.
Again, it made Ashley wonder what else the family had experienced with Suresha. She could have done it out in the middle of the bar and no one would have noticed. They hadn't made a single noise. Not even a whimper of pain. Their expressions had twisted in pain before they'd blanked the expression from their faces. Once it was over, emotions flowed over their faces, they smiled at each other, and Tanya had blood tears in her eyes.
"Thank you, Ashley," Tanya said, her throat tight, turning to look at Ashley with gratefulness.
Ashley smiled in return, more so because Tanya had said her name and not "Master". She'd hate to kill them again. "You'll be moving to Portugal, away from Asia, so ready yourselves for plenty of sun. You'll be staying at one of the Vayre hotels that is currently having an extension built onto the side. So it will be noisy, however the outcome will allow you and your family to go into the extension to see the sun without being burnt, much like the bar here, so I don't think a little noise will matter too much."
