FIVE

Micah Leon, Nick Leon, Rose Longthoen, and Maize Darun stood in various places around the bar. Ashley's vampyre's. Micah currently stood pouring a larger for a human, Nick was cleaning the glasses behind the bar, and Rose and Maize were clearing tables and taking orders. Ashley knew that with Micah here, Veronica, or as she liked to be called, Ronnie would be here also. And with Rose here, so would Ivey. Except for Ronnie and Nick, the others had been changed in the 1400s. Micah being the eldest by having another seventy-eight years on top. Ronnie and Nick had been changed in the early 1900s.

The inside continued the earthy feel that the outside sign gave. Soft woods, dark wood bar that looked as though they had dragged in a trunk and then carved into it. The walls were a mixture of blue and green. But then, behind the bar was more red and orange, enhancing it's appearance, making it warm, inviting customers closer. The ceiling had been changed so that it was covered in the dark glass provided by Vayre. Ashley knew that the vampyre's had done it to try and be closer to the sun. But the glass also brought more light in, making the area seem more natural, if a bit shaded.

It didn't take long for all of her vampyre's to look in her direction. Welcoming smiles appeared on all their faces – Nick's was more his usual smirk smile and Ashley felt Nick welcome her as she felt heat rush across her body, she replied in kind. Nick had started it when he'd first realised that he'd gained the ability. And as Ashley hadn't discouraged it, Nick continued to welcome her with warmth from his fire.

Nick appeared to be a five-foot-four eighteen year old, even though he was actually sixty. His short blond hair was in it's usual mischievous spiky style and his green eyes that were flecked with gold danced in amusement from their exchange.

Who needs a family? Ashley thought, thinking about the thoughts she been having over the the past few days. When I have this.

Unaware of the heated exchange between the vampyre and his original, Micah turned to Nick. "Get your mum."

Nick grinned mischievously once more before doing as Micah had told him.

Reaching the bar, Micah spoke to Ashley, as they did the traditional vampyre greeting – grasping each others forearms. It was only done if they hadn't seen each other for a while, and it also showed that they knew each other and got along. If they hadn't, it would have been a normal human-like handshake. "Haven't seen you in long time, Ashley."

Micah was a warrior and a tracker, it showed by his rugged forty year old appearance. His dark blonde hair was tied back and Ashley knew that it reached the middle of his back. Dark sea green eyes were only slightly above Ashley's as Micah was the same height as Nick. The Leon family was a short one, a contrast to the other three vampyre's that stuck with them.

"I hadn't realised you'd moved to here," Ashley said as they released each other. "Or I would have visited sooner."

Arms were suddenly wrapped around her from behind, but she'd heard the approach, even though Rose had tried to surprise her. Rose Longthoen. The Goth princess. Only Rose and Ivey had ever hugged Ashley from behind – no one else had dared. "So good to see you again, Ashley!"

"Hello, Rose, how's your twin?"

"Smokin'," Ivey – the Goth Prince – the twins had gotten their nicknames from Nick when he'd first met them – said, coming from the kitchen with a large smile and greeted Ashley by forearms. Turning to look at Micah, Ivey continued. "And I'm not kidding, the kitchen is smoking."

Growling, Micah said a word that explained it all. "Nick!"

Ivey was a male version of Rose. Both were several inches taller than Ashley at five-foot-six, both appeared to be around twenty-five, and both had cat green soft eyes. Again, both had black hair but Ivey had a cobalt blue strip in his fringe and Rose had a deep, vibrant purple strip. Tongue, eyebrow, ears and lip pierced, and with the way they dressed, they were the ones that you didn't want to meet in the back of an alley. Plus they each had tattoos, Ivey's was ivy wrapped around his left arm and Rose had a long stemmed rose running the length of her left arm with the rose head on the back of her hand.
