"So my new home has a backyard and my parents are making me clean it." You poured as you placed your books into your bag. "What's so bad about it! Backyards are the definition of adventures." Taehyung raised an eyebrow at you. You stuck out your tongue and sling your bag over your shoulder. "Yea when we were seven? I'm only going to spend my afternoon at the backyard because I have to clean it! The previous owners didn't have the word 'clean' in their vocabulary."

Taehyung chuckled and placed his arms around you, pulling you closer as you both left the classroom. You suddenly felt nervous from the close proximity. It's natural for a girl to start liking a really handsome and fun guy, especially if that handsome and fun guy happened to be your best friend. However, you knew it wouldn't happen and you'll get over it one day. As his best friend, you knew who he had crushed on and you were definitely not in the same category as them.

"You don't have to be so mean to the previous owners! You know what? I'll head over this Saturday and help you clean the backyard!" Taehyung offered enthusiastically, as if cleaning the backyard was the best thing in the world.

"Really you will?"

"Yup! Of course! Why wouldn't I?"

"Because we're going to clean the backyard." You said in a monotonous tone which only made him laugh. "You're such a drama queen (y/n)."

The week the gone by quickly, you had slowly prepared the tools to clean the backyard. Oh how you envied your younger sibling who was having a school camp. "(Y/N)! Taehyung is here!" Your father hollered loudly at you. From the backyard, you dropped the rake and ran to the front door to greet him happily.

The cheerful boy grinned at you and you both made your way to the backyard. "Your new house is so big! I'm so jealous!"

"Jealous? Yours is a two level house!"

"Yea but I want a backyard!"

"You can have mine if it means that I don't have to clean it."

Taehyung laughed and pulled you towards the tools. He suddenly saluted at you and you gave him a weird look. "What is my first task ma'am!" He shouted like a soldier. You stifled a laugh, feeling not so surprised since you were talking about Kim Taehyung.

"Well soldier," you played along, earning a happy smile from him, "Your first task is to rake the leaves!"

His stomped his foot, "Ma'am yes ma'am!"

"Now get to it soldier! You're slower than my grandmother!" You joked as he ran towards the rake. The two of you started taking the leaves and proceeded to mowing the lawn. "Turn on the hose (y/n)!" Taehyung spoke and you went to turn it on.

The moment you turned around m, you were greeted by a cold splash of water. "KIM. TAEHYUNG."

"You turned it too much! It's too strong!!" He cheekily replied but it was clear he had a good control of it. You ran to him and he defended himself by splashing water at you once more. The boy was already laughing so hard, it was a cute sight that you couldn't stay annoyed at that boy.

"Hey listen, I'm sorry (y/n). Why don't you hop on the wheelbarrow and I'll push you around. My queen." He got on one knee, bowing in front of you. You laughed and took the hose. "Very well, my peasant."

You hopped on the wheelbarrow spraying the water everywhere in no clear direction while Taehyung pushed you around the backyard. The remaining clean up time was full of laughter, games and of course, revenge.

By the time the whole place was cleaned up, you two looked like a mess. But none of you could be bothered since you had a great time. "Who knew cleaning could be so fun and so so tiring." You panted, taking a sit on the neatly trimmed grass. Taheyung did the same and nodded his head, "Today was fun!"

"Thanks for helping me Tae." You smiled gratefully at him. Your mom shouted from inside saying that she had prepared snacks for you two and you both immediately got up.

"Hey (y/n)!" He called out your name. You turned around, again, to be greeted by the hose that was in his hands. "Yah!"

He smiled and walked towards you, you raised your hands to punch his arm but he took it. "I like you a lot. Why don't we go out on a date together? I mean if it's okay... I mean you don't have to... I was just wondering and I just wanted to say it but—"

You stopped Taehyung from sprouting out broken sentences with a laugh and a kiss on the cheek. "I'd love to."

"Really? I'm so glad to hear that." He gave you his classic box smile. "Plus you're the only one that really puts up with my crazy self."

"Your crazy self never fails to make my day, no matter how bad. It's a gift, Kim Taehyung." You grinned as you both stepped into the house.

"Glad you like it then!"

"Hey you two! Don't wet my floor!" Your mom shouted.
