You've been working on your album for almost 3 months. You've spend sleepless nights getting the melodies right, changing the lyrics and recording the final piece. "Are you ready (y/n)?" Rap Monster called out for your attention. You looked up and gave the 2 boys a thumbs up. Suga nodded his head and played your background music.
Rap Monster and Suga have been helping you with your 1st every solo album. You were lucky to be given this opportunity by Big Hit. "That was better than the first one!" Suga spoke through the microphone. You took off the headphones and left the small recording room. "Can I hear it?" You asked as Suga pulled you on to his lip. You sat comfortably on his lap as his arms were wrapped around you.
Rap Monster went ahead to play the first verse and first chorus. After adjusting the volume and tweaked minor problems, Rap Monster spoke, "Hyung, we have a performance in 5 hours. We should head back."
You got off from Suga's lap and he stood up. "You should go back and rest too, (y/n)." He looked at you, it wasn't obvious but there was a hint of concern on his face. Shaking your head, you replied, "it's okay! I'll just touch up with the melody of my Outro. All the best for your performance!"
Suga smiled and gave you a quick kiss on the cheek. Rap Monster raised his eyebrow, "Yah hyung i'm in the room you know." Suga shrugged and started walking towards the door, "So what? It's not my fault you're single."
You laughed and waved 'bye' to the two. Suga and you have been dating for 5 months and when he heard you had to work on your first solo album, he immediately chipped in to help you and so did your best friend, Rap Monster.
As days passed by, the deadline was nearing. You were getting more nervous as the numbers turned to a single digit. "Yah (y/n), you don't have to worry alright? I know your album will be accepted!" Suga tried to assue you, rubbing his hands up and down your arms, trying to soothe you by doing that gesture. You sighed and closed your eyes, throwing your head back slightly, "I hope so too..."
One week.
You had one week left to make your final adjustments and corrections before the music board had to hear your whole album. "And... We're done!" Rap monster announced as he pressed the enter button. You three had just finished editing your Outro.
"That was tiring. How do you guys do it?" You sighed as you leaned back tiredly on the chair. Suga replied confidently, "Talent. I'm a genius." You grabbed your jacket and threw it at him but he caught it effortlessly. "I don't need to hear that now."
Rap Monster laughed, "I'm on her side hyung."
"You two are just jealous of my genius brain." He stood up and walked towards the door, "I'll get drinks for the three of us." Rap Monster sighed and got into a comfortable position on the small couch at the back of the room. "What are you doing?" You raised an eyebrow at him.
"Sleeping. What does it look like?" You smiled to yourself and looked at the computer with great satisfaction. I hope they'll like it.
Suga came back into the room with 3 bottled drinks and placed them on the table. "Is he already sleeping?" He asked, referring to Rap Monster. "Hey Namjoon!" You called out loudly but you two were greeted by a soft snore. Suga let out a soft chuckle as he took a sit beside you. "Nervous?" You pressed your lips into a thin line and nodded your head.
"Very."
"Relax, this album is good. We'll both be there for moral support. I promise. I'll drag Namjoon even if he's asleep."
You laughed and smiled at him, "Thank you for helping me. I bet I wouldn't be halfway through if I did it alone." Suga decided to pull his chair closer to you to hug you. "Should we leave him alone here and head back?"
Smacking his chest, you got up and threw your jacket on top of Rap Monster's face. "Hey sleepyhead, let's go back."
It was the day.
The day you had to let the music board hear your album. Wiping your sweating palms on your pants, you jumped up and down in your spot. Suga sighed and grabbed your hand, suddenly pulling you in a hug. "I said relax for ten thousand times (y/n)."
"Now you're just exaggerating." You pouted at him. Suga was about to reply when the music director called out your name. (Y/N), please come in now." You breathed in and out slowly. "Let's go in then." you muttered.
Suga had his hands entwined with yours as they listen to any random song from the album and both the intro and outro. After awhile, they placed the headphones back on the desk and whispered amongst each other. You felt him squeeze your hands and you looked up at him.
"Calm down." He whispered. Rap Monster nodded his head and patted your back quietly.
"(Y/N)..." The middle guy began to speak, "I must say after hearing a couple songs, this was not my expectation at all..." Hearing those words, you felt your hopes and dreams being crushed. You had just wasted your chance of having your first solo album.
"I'm actually shocked that it has surpassed my expectations. You did brilliantly well, (Y/N)."
You thanked him and bowed a full 90 degrees. "Thank you so much but I had help from Rap Monster-ssi and Suga-ssi." You replied. "I know that so I have asked them personally beforehand on what they had done in the album. From what i've heard, majority of this came from you so i'm very pleased. However, I'd like you to edit two songs to feature them in one song each."
Your face lit up in excitement, "Yes sir, we'll get on to it! Thank you so much for liking the album. The three guys in front of you smiled and gave you a short nod, "You've got great talent (Y/N), we're looking forward for more promotions with you."
The three of you left the group shortly after that. You immediately jumped up and down, squealing in happiness. "Thank you guys so so much!!" You exclaimed in a high pitched voice, jumping to where Suga was and gave him a tight hug. He wrapped his arms around you, trying to calm you down a bit. "I told you it'll be fine. I'm shocked they like it so much."
You pulled back and nodded your head, "Me too, really." You turned and gave Rap Monster a big hug as well. "I'm so proud of you (y/n)! They liked it so much!"
"Okay okay hands of my girlfriend now Namjoon." Suga said half-jokingly as he pulled you back to his side, placing an arm protectively around your waist. "Why don't we tell the others and have a celebration?" Rap Monster suggested.
"Sounds great!" You grinned and you three headed off to celebrate this great achievement.
"Why s my girlfriend so talented?" Suga asked as you two waited for Rap Monster to bring out the other guys. You smiled, "Because my boyfriend is also so talented."
Suga smiled at you and kissed your forehead, "Congrats jagiya."
