Jimin wasn't one who reads fervently. In fact, he seldom reads. So it would be weird to see him hanging out at the library after school everyday. But apparently that's the case.
Jimin had to meet his teacher at the library once for one-to-one consultation for one of his weaker subjects. That was when he met you. One of the student librarian who helps out everyday after school. (Y/n).
You were his classmate but you guys never really talked since you had your own group of friends and he had his. "Hey hey hey, don't push me." Jimin fixed his shirt, turning to flee at his best friend Taehyung. The boy just grinned, "Alright have fun there I'm going home."
"Hey don't— Urgh. Never mind." Jimin grumbled to himself. Jimin entered the library and found an empty table that was near where you were working at. While he attempted to do his homework, he would steal glances at you. Your smile made him feel even more nervous to approach you. Everytime you greeted the people who borrowed books, he would see how amiable you were.
Jimin could only sit by the corner and watch you, as creepy as it sounds. He thought you would never date someone who doesn't like reading books.
Now, there you were; helping people scan their books and greeting them. You had volunteered to help out at the library since you needed the extra money. Going to the library had become more 'exciting' since your crush started going to the library more often — Park Jimin.
However you knew it was weird since he doesn't read nor has he ever borrowed a single book ever since he started going to the library. You assumed he wanted a place to take a nap so it happened to be the library. But you have caught him looking at you time to time. Taking a short glance you saw Jimin staring at a worksheet. Just as you were about to look away, Jimin looked up and both your eyes met.
Jimin flashed you his charming smile with his eye smile too. With a fluttering feeling you returned the smile before returning to do your work. "You know he's been staring at you for days." Your friend spoke. You laughed softly, turning to look at her with a stack of books in your arms. "I've noticed too (friend's name), but I think it's nothing really." You pushed the small gate with your hips and walked towards the shelves to return the books.
You didn't see Jimin's bag as you walked past and tripped over it. You managed to save yourself but not the books. "Here I'll help you." You heard his voice and you felt like smiling like an idiot. "T-Thanks." You muttered as you picked up some books. "Do you need help with these?" Jimin asked with a cute smile. You were about to kindly decline when he continued. "I'll help you out!"
While the two of you were returning to books, Jimin decided to start a conversation... With a pick up line. "We aren't supposed to talk in the library but you're worth the risk."
You let out a slightly loud laugh, immediately covering your mouth after that. He gave a sheepish smile, "Was it that bad?" You shrugged, returning the last book. "It's not bad."
While the two of started walking back, Jimin asked you if you would want to hang out with him after your shifts. "I end pretty late though."
"I'm always at the library till it closes anyway!" He grinned at you and accepted it. "Alright, well the library's closing in one hour. We can go home together if it's okay?"
Jimin nodded his head, "Yea sure! I'll wait for you." He sat back down and resumed your work with your best friend teasing you the remaining hour.
5pm.
After everyone left the library, you saw Jimin waiting outside the library for you. You said goodbye to your friend and walked over to Jimin. "Told you I'd wait."
You smiled and you headed over to the bus stop. "You know I've never seen you at the library till recently." Jimin hesitated at first but decide to be honest, hoping you won't find it creepy.
"when I found out you were a librarian I wanted to go there more often to see you..." He trailed off shyly, looking at his phone cover. He heard a laugh at his side and looked back up at you. "That's what my friend assumed. I guess she's right."
"Wait so you know that I like—"
You nodded your head and he laughed nervously. "It's okay, I kinda have a crush on you too." You shrugged as if it was nothing but your heart was beating very fast. Your friend had been telling you her assumptions but the fact that she was right and you wee hearing it from Jimin made your heart flutter.
Jimin grinned, "I'm glad to hear that! I feel really happy now." You smiled and nodded your head, "Me too. Plus, that pick up line awhile ago was so cheesy."
He just laughed, feeling slightly embarrassed but proud of himself at the same time. Wait till Taehyung hears about this, he thought to himself.
The two of you talked more on the bus and it was finally your stop. "I'll see you in school tomorrow (y/n)?"
"As always. Don't forget the library too." You joked and he laughed.
"Don't forget to check your phone."
You waved at him and alighted the bus. Your phone vibrated and you checked the message that was from Jimin.
Jimin — I've got another one. What book would you recommend to help me sweep you off your feet?
