Everything as smooth sailing for your relationship with Jin. He's always been sweet and helpful. Jin would stop by your house with your favourite snacks, he knew how to take care of you. You would be up at night texting him and using snapchat to talk with him. Jin was adorably awkward at times but he was your adorable awkward boyfriend. During that period, everything seemed perfect.
Of course, it didn't last long.
You weren't sure how it started. Scratch that, you think you knew how it started. There was a new transfer student in university and as the class representative, you were given the task to show him around shook and let him be comfortable in class. That would mean one obvious thing, be his friend.
Jongdae became a good friend in your group, the more you got to know him, you realized that he was really funny and no matter how lame he jokes could be, it still cheered you up.
Jongdae got along with your group — well almost everyone. Jin had already been distant from him from the very first day. You had talked to Jin about being friendly and open, you just assumed it was because Jin was naturally awkward so you tried to make it comfortable by making Jongdae tag along with the group more often so they could be friends.
"Hey (y/n)." You heard your boyfriend called your name from behind. Jin wrapped his arms around you while his head rested on top of yours. "Yea?" You asked while arranging the reply slips that was given from our teacher. "Do you have more work to do?"
"Mm... Yea I do but Jongdae offered to help so I have lesser stuff to deal with." You said with a smile, genuinely thankful that Jongdae had offered you help. A grumble was heard from Jin and you laughed, "What's wrong?"
"You know Jongdae likes you, right?"
"Yes Jin, as a friend." You said, getting up from your seat. You placed the arranged reply slips into a clear plastic file and slung your bag over your shoulder. Jin took his bag and followed you behind. "No I mean he has a crush on you. Trust me (y/n), I don't like you being near him." He admitted with a pout.
You laughed and playfully pushed him with your shoulders, "Come on Jin, that's not going to happen."
You had expected Jin to think the same and not to overthink on why Jongdae was so friendly and helpful with you. Unfortunately, Jin slowly became more protective over you.
"Hey (y/n)! We just suggested a movie night this Friday, you wanna come?"
You shrugged and nodded your head, "Yea sure. Who's coming though?" Your friend listed out your whole group except Jin. "Jin isn't coming?"
"He said he didn't feel like going."
Just as you were about to respond, your boyfriend came up to you from behind. "Hey (y/n)." He kissed you on the forehead. You were quite stunned from the sudden public affection. "H-Hey Jin. Anyway, why aren't you coming for the movie night?"
Jin was only looking straight and hard at your friend who seemed uncomfortable under his gaze. "Uh (y/n), it's alright. You don't have to force Jin to come along. We can always have another movie night!" He nodded his head, seemingly eager to leave that place.
Slowly, you started missing the group outings since Jin didn't want to go and you felt that you shouldn't go without him. There was a sleepover once and all your girl friends from your group were going. "Yea of course you can go." Jin smiled, wrapping his arms around your waist.
