"Aren't you excited to see Namjoon? You've been busy this whole week you couldn't even talk to him through the phone! Don't be a lazy and get ready, (y/n)." Your mother lightly slapped your legs, signaling you to get up from bed. You've been successfully ignoring his texts and calls, which was why your mother assumed you were busy this whole week.
Every time he tried to call the house number, you would tell your mom that you were very busy with school work. The thought crossed your mind a lot of times, especially when you weren't doing anything. What would've happened if you just forgave him right then on the spot? Would things be much better now?
Then the image of the girl talking about them hanging out would anger you once more. You were scared to continue the relationship because how could you be so sure he won't do it again? You got ready nonetheless and headed to the party with your whole family. "(Y/N)! You've grown so much, you're so pretty now! " Namjoon's mother greeted you lovingly.
She had always seen you as his daughter which just made things harder to see her. "Thank you Aunty! And happy birthday!" You mustered up a smile and hugged her back. It was an obvious answer as to why you weren't in the mood to mingle around with the other guests. It was worse when you saw someone familiar. It was her. You had learned from Namjoon's mother that her father was a family friend and it was a coincidence they went to the same school.
Oh the joy.
You asked if you could hang out at her backyard and she obviously allowed you to do anything since it was pretty much your second home. You sat on the swing set that you and Namjoon used to play and your eyes wandered around the backyard mindlessly.
You felt a lump in your throat as you remembered all the memories in the backyard. You remembered every thing. Every single party, sleepover and fight. "(Y/N)?" You looked up to see your mom and Namjoon's mom. Getting up, you walked towards them quickly. "Are you okay? You've been really quiet?" Your mom asked worriedly. You were about to assure them that your were fine when you realised that this could be your only chance to leave the party. "Actually I'm not feeling that well today..." you muttered, feeling bad for lying to the closest adults to you.
Your mom frowned, "Honey you could've told me that this afternoon. Why don't you go home?" Your aunt nodded her head, "Yes (y/n) dear, you should go home and rest. It's alright, I'm happy that I get to see you again all grown up and beautiful. Do you need someone to follow you home? It's evening already." Shaking your head, you replied them, "No it's alright. I'll just use the bathroom first then head home."
You were on the way to the bathroom when someone stopped in your path. "(Y/N), right?" You sighed in relief for a brief moment, thankful it wasn't Namjoon. Till you realised who it was.
"Oh yea. I'm sorry I didn't get your name the last—"
"It's fine. I'm Hye Rin! It's nice to see you again! I expected to see you here since you said you dated him before."
"Yea well it's nice to meet you but I need to use—"
"By the way, have you seen Namjoon? He looked horrible for a few days but don't worry, I helped and comforted him—"
"I'm sorry Hye Rin, I have to go use the bathroom now. It was good seeing you." You cut her off sharply and walked past her. Tears filled your eyes as you replayed what she had said. Was all the calls and texts just for show? Or was it a call to officially break up?
You decided with the latter. You guys were over.
After washing your face, you greeted happy birthday once more to your aunt before you were headed to leave. "Namjoon ah! Go bring (y/n) home! The bus stop is far from our house!"
