"I love you (y/n)! I'll see you after today's training!" You would give him a kiss and watch him enter the Bighit building while you were in the car. You and Taehyung became a couple in a not-so-normal way. You two had been very open about many things since the beginning of your friendship.
Whenever one of you had problems, you would go to the other immediately. Whenever there was good news, you two would sure it to each other. When Taehyung found out he was put in a group, you were the first to know. You had always been there since day one and Taehyung was always there for you too.
The two of you were at your place one day, trying to compete over the champion title over a video game when he confessed that he liked you. You told him that the feeling was mutual; that you liked him too. After that, you two never really talked much about it but started acting as a couple. Taehyung was there to protect you, cheer you up, listen to your rants and relax with you.
You were there to help him relax after a tiring training session, there to listen to his problems, there to watch and give him pointers when he's practicing at his place and there to comfort him when he didn't have hope in the future.
You could say that your relationship was very casual, but you didn't mind it one bit because it allowed the two of you to be open with each other.
"Happy Third Anniversary! I got you VIP tickets to our TRB concert here in Korean!" Taehyung pulled you with his arms into an embrace. "Are you serious? That's great!! I'm gonna be the loudest fan out there!!" You squealed in excitement.
He laughed and pinched your nose, "As long as you're cheering for me!" You grinned happily at him and he returned it with his charming rectangular smile.
The fourth year together, Bangtan became more popular. There was a sudden spike in their popularity. After the I NEED U comeback, they became even more popular. You only had a handful of moments with Taehyung during your fourth year. You could say that had a downward spiral to your relationship.
Taehyung became a regular in a reality TV show, there was a rookie girl idol in that show too and they had become friends. Taehyung would text you everything and you didn't mind since it's a way saying that he only saw her as a friend and there was nothing to hide. Well, that's what you thought in the beginning. Article after article, people would post dating rumours about Taehyung and that girl. Fans would make videos and GIFs about the two of them.
You couldn't blame them since your relationship was kept a secret to the public. You didn't let it get to you at first since you knew Taehyung was your boyfriend and you were his girlfriend.
Slowly but surely, you guys had lesser time to call and text. You guys had very little time to catch up, all you could do was to watch their live shows and their social media accounts. Taehyung slowly stopped replying to you just as the number of articles about him and the girl increased.
"... Please leave a message after the tone. Beep."
With a deep breath you spoke through the phone, "Hey... It's me (y/n), I hope you're doing great... I heard you guys are in Japan now... Maybe when you're free you could text me? I saw your latest video in the V app—" there was another beep, signaling the end of the voice message.
"Message sent. Thank you. Goodbye." You closed your eyes and locked your phone. Running your hair through your unkempt hair, you scrolled through Koreaboo under the tag "Bangtan".
