Summary - Suga as a coffee barista

It was your final year in university and you have never been so stressed. You seldom got sleep which made you addicted to coffee. Coffee was like your water. Without it, you will die. There was a small coffee shop near your apartment and you would go there everyday to get your coffee and do some studying there.

The staff there knew you, knew your order, knew what time you would be there. It was a daily routine for you. You knew every one that worked there.

Until a new staff came in.

"Hi I would like to have my regular again thank you!" You spoke not looking up as you searched for your wallet. "Sorry I'm new here." You looked up upon hearing the unfamiliar voice. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't see you, I'll have (your coffee order) please."

The new coffee barista nodded his head and turned around to make your order.
He seems pretty cute. And quiet too. You thought to yourself as you stepped to the side. He turned around to hand you your order and you glanced at his name tag.

Min Yoongi.

"Thank you." You went to sit at your usual seat and took out your computer to start on your current project. Every time you took a break, your thoughts would wander off to the new coffee barista. He seems pretty distant though. You thought as you stole a glance at him. You smiled to yourself and resumed working on your project. You had to be friends with him. Since you new everyone in the small coffee shop, you might as well should be friends with him too.

After a few days, the new coffee barista was quick to recognize you as a regular customer, he had already remembered your order. "The usual?" He would ask you and you would nod your head in reply.

It was a late Saturday night, you've been in that coffee shop since 4pm. You were repairing for your History Exam that covered half your syllabus and you were dying from the overload of content. You had planned to leave at dinner but the heavy rain had stopped you from doing so.

You decided to wait till the rain stopped or at least lightened. "(Y/N), it's getting late, don't you want to go home?" One of the older ladies, in fact, the owner, approached you. You shrugged, glancing outside the window. "I wanted to go home earlier but it's raining really heavily. I don't have enough money to take the cab either."

"Ah I see." She smiled and headed back to wipe the tables.

Just as you were about to start on the second last chapter that was going to be tested, the new barista approached you. "Your regular." He said, handing you a cup of hot coffee. "Uh I didn't—"

"The owner wanted to give you a cup for free." He shrugged, you could tell he couldn't care less. You looked at the older lady who approached you earlier. "Thank you." You mouthed and she walked over you. "My nephew will bring you home." She said with a warm smile, placing her hand on the boy's shoulder. The barista however, looked at her as if she was crazy.

"But we've never talked before—"

"Yoongi be a gentleman and bring her home safely would you? (Y/N), enjoy your coffee. I'll see you tomorrow again?"

You got up and hugged her, "Thank you so much Aunty! It means a lot."

You quickly packed your stuff, not wanting him to wait any longer. "I'm sorry if it's a hassle, you can pretend to bring me home if you want. Just until we're out of her sights, it's okay really—"

"You don't have an umbrella or money right? I'm bringing you home. Plus, I'm too lazy to clean all those tables and counters." He shrugged, opening the umbrella.

"My name's Yoongi."

"I'm (y/n)."

The two of you stopped at a taxi stand. "Uh... I don't have money—"

"She gave me money."

"Are you serious? I can't accept—"

"My aunt really likes you. Once she likes you, it's hard to refuse her. You might as well accept it." Yoongi shrugged. You nodded your head sheepishly, looking around he place, finding it very awkward.

It was weird how you were both waiting for a cab and he was bringing you home when you've never talked before. The closest you got to a conversation was saying your order me receiving your change.

"Well uh... You make really good coffee..." You spoke, immediately feeling like smacking yourself after saying that. You heard him chuckle by your side and you looked at him.

"I've been learning since young." You were thankful he continued the conversation if not it would have ended up really awkward.

"Why didn't you work earlier there?"

Yoongi shrugged, "I've been trying to make music." He muttered. Yoongi felt weird. He wasn't one to easily tell people about that. He had decided only recently to become a barista since he was skilled at if, but his heart was still with music.

There he was, talking about it to someone who he has never had a decent conversation with. Yoongi took a peek at you, only to look away when he saw that you were staring at him. "Music? Really? That's so cool!" You said excitedly.

"You think it's cool?" he turned to look at you. Yoongi then noticed that you had adorable and beautiful features. He took that moment to admire you and got captivated by your ecstatic smile.

"Yea! Of course it!"

A taxi came and you both got in, once you made it to your home. You thanked Yoongi for accompanying you. "Rest well." He gave you a small smile, you were under your porch, the sound of the rain hitting was really loud, the rain was still so strong.

"I'll see you around?" You asked. Yoongi then flashed a charming smile that made your heart flutter slightly. "You'll always see me making coffee."

You laughed, "Make sure my coffee is tasty tomorrow."

"It's always tasty." Yoongi spoke as he walked away. Suddenly, just as you were about to enter the house, he called out your name. "Don't forget to read the bottom of the cup." He spoke and walked off to hail a taxi.

Confused, you turned your now empty coffee cup that was given for free.

It was his number.
