The Fight

The Ape titan was finally caught and was tangled in the net. Levi immediately jumped on top of it's body, standing on it's neck. The natives surrounded him with spears ready.

"Can't we talk about this fellas?" Hanji jumped down to join him.

"This is our capture! You strangers are not invited on our land! Leave!" one brave native answered.

"Hekwoo, that's enough!" Kano came out of the forest with a lit staff in hand.

"Chief Kano the Great, you're alright?!" the young boy cried in amazement.

"Remember that I'm still here and alive. Until I give up my powers to Cheoki, you are all to follow my laws and rule. Rowtag in nowhere near my status, understood!?" he yelled in his husky voice.

"Yes, Kano the Great!" all warriors went on their knees and bowed before him.

"What do you plan on doing to this beast, little man?" Kano turned his attention towards Levi.

"Sir, this beast is part of our investigation to who this shifter may be. If you don't mind, I'm going to cut him up." Levi stabbed his blades into the Ape's neck and ripped it open. Steam arose from the openong showing the outline of a person inside.

He quickly detached the body from the titan so it'd disappear. Once rthey were at a safe distance, Levi turned the body over. The man had medium length hair, wore glasses, had a small beard and appeared to be in his early thirties.

"Mr....Mr. Yeager." Mikasa fell to her knees in great shock. "E-Eren...."

"Don't just stand there and watch, I need help here!" Levi yelled to his mew squad.

"Men carry this body over to the camp!" Kano immediately ordered. "as for the rest of you, we must talk. This is very important."

The whole team decided to follow Kano into the forest. Soon as they kept walking the ground was covered in sand instead of grass.

"Are we by the ocean?" Armin's eyes gleamed with excitement.

"The shore is a couple of feet ahead but what I want you to see is this." Kano walked over to a cave with vines hanging down from it. Kai poked his head in.

"Mama, Papa's here with the guest!" he yelled as he ran inside. Inside the cave the tribe had a fire going, they had a pig roasted brown and several fishes still cooking by the fire.

"Kano, my dearest, you are still alive! Thank heavens!" Muta walked over to greet her husband with a kiss. She went over to her sons and gave them several kisses as well.

"Kai, I though I told you to stay here! You could've gotten killed!" she scold the youngest.

"But mother, I wanted to help them! I though Cheoki would be with them, I just wanted to make sure she was safe."
Muta sighed and knelt to her son's height. She gently touched his face and began to lightly cry.

"Your son is very brave. He saved us from the Ape titan." Erwin commented with a smile on his face.

"He's a tough brat, his skills are very impressive." Levi added as he went over, sat on a rock while the others remained behind Erwin.

"You all had a long journey, please won't you dine with us?" Muta showed them to three empty tents they had prepared.

The entire team collapsed to the ground and fell straight to sleep. All except Levi, Erwin and Hanji.

Levi was sitting by the entrance. The sight of him seemed to give off a very lonely and depressing tone. Hanji went over to sit by him knowing that her presence wasn't going to make it any better.

"Shouldn't you be sleeping?" he groaned.

"I could ask the exact same thing to you." Hanji laughed. "Anything you want to say?"

Levi laid on his back and turned away from her. "Nothing, really."

"Hanji, Levi what are you two doing? It's pretty late, you guys should be getting some rest." Muta walked over to them with a blanket in her arms.

"Hello Muta, we can't really sleep. How about you?" Hanji answered since Levi seemed to have no intention.

"I'm trying to get used to my new sleeping cycle since Cheoki was always on night guard. There's actually something I want you to see." she turned her back to them and looked over her shoulder. "Come on."

Muta led them up a pile of rocks that acted as a staircase for them to reach up to a hole in the ceiling. They all managed to squeeze through the hole and gawked at the view. Not that far was the ocean but the trees blocked it clear view. The sky was very dark but the moon gave them a bit of light to see with.

"Isn't it just lovely? You can see everything up here." Muta placed her blanket on the floor and seated herself.

"This is a very nice spot you got here, Muta." Erwin complimented her with his head sticking out of the hole. He tried to pull himself up but slipped, Hanji ran over to help him.

"I sometimes pretend that she's out hunting with her father and she'll be back with her latest kill." Muta broke the silence.

"Why didn't you tell her?"

"We thought she'd forget and live the normal childhood that was taken from her. She's been in that beast form for many years, I remember she'd have nightmares of eating others. Even though she wasn't mine, I loved her. I love her so much." Muta began to tear up.

"I'm very sorry to bring this up."

"It's alright, I know you care about her." she wipes the tears from her face and smiles at him. "I've heard alot about you and want to thank you for taking care of her."

"And what did they say about me?" Levi looked back, showing interest.

"You don't show it in your appearance but you do through your actions. They know that you saved Cheoki from Rowtag." Muta held up a white flower and smiled with tears rolling down her face. The flower was the same one that he saw Cheoki would be picking at.

"Thank you for watching over her. Thank you for staying with her when she was lonely. Thank you for holding her when she was scared. Thank you for loving her along with her flaws. Thank you for accepting her as she is. No man would have been able top off the great deed you have done for our family. Your quite the gentleman, Levi."

Levi lifted the flower up to his face, he inhaled it's sweet scent. It reminded him of her, always following and standing beside him. It was then he felt strange to have no one with him. It was an odd empty feeling.

Levi continued to look out into the horizon, waiting for a young girl to come running out with a smile on her face.
