Chapter 1 Genesis


"Cheoki! Cheoki, wake up" my mother called as she gently shook my body. When I finally decided to get up she set down a clay bowl of water.

"Wash up before you go out." she smiled as she exited my tent.

My name is Cheoki ,daughter of Head Chief Kano of the Mis Tribe. This tribe is far more special than any other because it contains various races. Our tribe is a flock of surviors when these huge beings attacked us. We had Hispanics, Asians, English men and Native Americans as well. A long time ago there used to be about 50 of us, but sadly it's decreased to about 15 members.

But today was gonna change all of that. Today was the day I finally was old enough to be married off to a man. Shockingly my family met another tribe called Bullheads, which had about 20 people, and I was supposed to be married of to their leader to guarantee our safety.

"Cheoki, where are you?!" my mother yelled

"I'm coming, ma! Just a minute!" I called back

Quickly I got dressed and ran out my tent. Lately we've been traveling with the Bullheads in search for a permanent home. But it's been impossible due to the fact that we are constantly being chased by these giants that viciously feed on us humans.

Outside my father was waiting for me with a my bear coat. He handed me my coat and motioned me to follow. Together we took a walk in the forest as the rest of the village rested.

"It's been a while since we've seen the sun." he squinted to fix his vision.

Since birth I've always woke up to the moon since we travel by night. It makes it easier to run away from the giants, since they're slow at nightfall.

"It sure has."

"What are you exactly thinking about, Cheoki? Something's been bothering you." he spoke in a stern voice showing authority.

" Papa, I don't think I'm ready to marry Rowtag!" I blurted out

Rowtag, was the Bullheads youngest and strongest leader. His father has grown too old and weak, so he granted his son the power to take charge. He was as tall as my father and probably 2 or 3 years older than me.

He is nothing but a heartless, cocky bastard which came off as unattractive to me. The only time I ever spoke to him was when his brother died. Other than that we rarely talk.
