Levi's hand began to burn from the heat. Hanto got onto his knees and helped him dig. After an hour of painful heat and tearing flesh, Levi spot an outline of a person, covered in veins and a layer of skin. Hanto handed him a small knife.

Levi cut open the sack of skin, releasing a flood of hot blood and air. Inside was a frail girl with veins and muscles clinging onto to her. Her skin was stained red from soaking in blood. Levi cut the attachments off of her and pulled her body out.

Once the body was detached, the titan form began to dissolve. They ran from the body as the hot air stung their skin.
When they were finally safe, Levi laid down the body and began to shake her.

"Cheoki! Cheoki!" Hima called to her.

Levi rested his ear on her chest, she wasn't breathing. He quickly pumped her chest and breathed into her mouth, trying to bring her back.

"S-she's dead?" Kai's voice croaked as he wiped his face.

"Don't worry, kid. Remember what papa said? She always finds her way home, not matter what." Hanto held his brother trying to calm him down.

After a couple of minutes, Levi grew weary from the CPR. On his last attempt, he blew as much air as he could. Once he drew back, they all waited for her to come back.

"No..." Levi pumped her chest a few more times and finally, Cheoki began to cough. She turned to her side and coughed up hot blood. She was probably drowning in all the blood.

Cheoki laid back and breathed regularly on her own. Levi sighed in relief and held her upper body up so she could breathe properly.

"Thank heavens, I thought you broke you promise." Levi whispered.

"Levi" Hanto knelt over to him and held out his hand. "I want to apologize to you. Thank you for saving my sister."

Levi shook his hand, accepting his apology.

"Hanto, Levi look up." Hima ordered them.

Standing in the thicket was Kano and the team. Kano gasped at the sight of the girl in his arms. Levi picked up the girl and walked over to Kano.

"I-Is it really you?" Kano touched her face, still bloody but thankfully breathing. "My dear Cheoki, has finally come home!" he rejoiced.

"Kano the Great, we must get going. The blood on her will attract many preys." Hima informed him.

Without hesitation, Kano ordered everyone to move out. He had everybody gather around Levi to protect him from any animal that dares to fight them.

"Halt!" Kano raised his hand and everybody froze.

"Somethings coming!" Hanto exclaimed. Everyone raised their weapons.

From the bushes Kano was able to make out the figures of a pack of wolves lurking in the thicket. The leader of the pack stepped out to face Kano. The wolf's eyes were locked on Levi and Cheoki, who was leaving a trail of blood on the ground.

"Erwin, what do we do?" Krista asked nervously.

"It'd be too dangerous for the shifters to change now." Erwin took out his one sword ready for the wolves to attack.

"We can take care of ourselves even in our human forms. Besides if we turn now, we might lose the trust of our new companions." Reiner said with a smirk on his face.

The leader of the pack aimed straight for Levi but Kano jumped in front of him and wrestled down the wolf. Once the leader attacked, all fo the other wolves charged at the other fighters.

"Mikasa and Eren! Help Levi get out of here!" Erwin yelled trying to push a wolf away from them.

"How are we gonna get out? None of us have fuel for our gear!" Eren slashed down a wolf.

"Everyone, make a path for them to escape!" Hima cried. Everyone pushed the wolves off to the side and created a narrow opening for them to escape.

Levi, Eren and Mikasa ran off with a trail behind them. The wolves smelt the rich scent of blood and tried to follow the trail. A few wolves were able to escape and run after their meals.

Without any idea to where they were going, the three kept on running in a straight path. Behind them they could hear the loud howling and snarling of their predators. A few feet away, a big grey wolf was about five feet away from biting at their ankles.

Levi began to slow down from both his exhaustion and the extra weight he had to carry. Eren helped push him from behind while Mikasa would remain behind protecting them.

"What do we do now!?" Eren panicked.

"We have to get above the ground somehow" Mikasa looked behind, noticing that the wolves were planning to pounce at them.
"Quickly, turn to the side!"

Following her orders, they all turned to the side leaving the wolves still running straight. Once they noticed they were duped, the wolves quickly stopped themselves and changed direction. With this little time they had, the trio helped each other climb a tree.

Once they were at a safe distance from the ground. The only thing the wolves could do was wait at the ground. The wolves paced and scratched at the tree.
It was going to be difficult for Levi to jump from tree to tree while carrying a body.

"We're gonna have to wake her up!" Eren suggested.

Levi put her down and shook her fiercely. He called her name several times, each time his voice grew louder.

"Cheoki, wake up! You made me a promise! Don't you dare go back on your word!" he yelled but it was no use.

"She's in that coma again. We have to find Hanji as soon as possible." Mikasa knelt down to pick up the body but Levi wouldn't let her go.

"Mr. Yeagar was going to use her as the test subject." He said, gripping onto her hot skin tighter.

"Right now she doesn't really have a choice." Mikasa looked down at the wolves, who were now jumping on the tree.
