Dinahs POV

As i sat in the room and heard various whispers I couldn't sit still. I mean how could you know when the person who raped you was about to be put on trail. Also when the girl who hate/loves you is testifying. Normani hasn't talked to me since Saturday and I hadn't stopped thinking of her.

I scanned the courthouse for familiar faces when I saw one that stopped my heart.

I heard shackles though and that drew my attention. Apparently Jay had tried to attack the guard. I tensed up in my seat and the judge banged the gavel.

"Alright..." Blah blah blah. The judge mumbled on and I didn't listen. After the judge opened the case the first person to speak was my lawyer.

After a few hours we were dismissed for recess. I walked out of courtroom number three and went to get water.

"Feels like second grade all over again, huh?" The husky voice asked. I looked at Normani.

"Yeah I guess."

"Second grade was the only year I would talk to you at recess." I continued opening the water bottle and taking a swig.

"I remember you would love to play on the monkey bars and sometimes you had me push you on the swings." She said fidgeting. I nodded looking behind her. My lawyer stood there and I looked away.

Normani's statement was next as we entered after our recess. I didn't know what she was going ti say and it scared me. I mean lying was a crime but I didn't want she would says, regarding.... that. I just didn't want her to embarrass me I guess, I don't know.

Our recess was over and we were back in the courtroom. I had to sit in the front and I could feel all eyes on me. It was awful. It felt like their gazes were burning into my soul. It was bad.

"The defense calls to the stand, Normani Hamilton." Normani had already taken her oath at the beginning. She had already been up, just for Jay. I wasn't ready for this.

Normani sat in the stand and my lawyer walked around up to her.

"So Normani can you tell me where you were these past few months?" My lawyer asked and I furrowed my eyebrows confused.

"Well I was at a rehab center, for anorexia." She said very confidently.

"Where we you the night before Mr. Carter was turned in for his crimes?" He asked her and she looked up at the ceiling before answering.

"It was homecoming night and Dinah and I were both at homecoming. She left around... 8:30 I think and I came by her house after. She was crying and asked me to spend the night, which I did, and I found her.... marks." She said not sure how to word my bruises. "After that I asked her what they were and she told me about..." She cut herself off before she got angry and say something that makes her sound biased. "Anyways I went to Jay's house the next morning and he confessed that he did... abuse her and I got it all on video." She said and my lawyer nodded.

"Which I have on a screen here..." My lawyer pointed to the screen and played the video. All eyes turned to the screen and I looked at Normani who was watching me already. I blushed looking away.
