Dinah's POV

"Baby your mails here." My mom yelled when she entered my house. I ran down the stairs and grabbed the letters out of her hand before she couldn't even close the door.

"Dinah I know you are excited, but calm down would ya?" My mom asked walking up behind me. Normani had been stay with us for a week now so it was January 15th aka the day that University of Washington was sending out letters.

"I can't calm down mom. This is my future I can finally leave." I said looking at the letter.

"Then open it." My mom said motioning me to open it. I opened it very slowly and carefully before reading the firs few lines.

"Dead Miss Dinah Jane Hansen we have reviewed your admission and and pleased to inform you-YES!" I yelled throwing the letter in the air and jumping up and down. My mom was laughing as I started crying.

"You got in?" My mom asked hugging me. I nodded furiously and tried wiping my tears. My dad walked into the room and looked confused.

"What happened here?" He asked rubbing my back as I tried to catch my breath.

"Dinah got into Washington." My mom said hugging me still.

"YES THATS MY GIRL." My dad yelled and hugged me. We hugged for a few minutes as I finished reading the letter. I smiled while reading it and then cried again.

"Baby stop crying." My mom said.

"I got in. I got in." I said happily. We all looked towards the stairs when footsteps rang through the house.

"I'm guessing you didn't tell her you applied to UW?" My mom asked as I continued looking up the stairs. I shook my head as my dad got a phone call.

"Just talk to her Dinah it will be okay." My mom said rubbing my shoulder. I nodded and went up to the guest room knocking first.

"Can I come in?" I asked.

"Its your house." She answered quietly. I walked into the white room and saw her tucking clothes into the drawer.

"You heard that?" I asked walking towards her.

"Congrats, I'm proud." She said with a hint of sadness and not looking at me.

"Mani look at me." I said begging for her eyes.

"Congrats Miss Jane." She said again turning around.

"Dont do that." I begged walking towards her. She turned around again and continued to fold her clothes.

"Mani where did you apply to college?" I asked her walking behind her now. She shook her head and pressed herself into my back.

"Washington state university." She whimpered. I gasped and pulled back. "Thats four and a half hours Dinah. I cant do that." She whimpered turning around to face me. I kept backing up and sat on the bed.

"We'll figure out something." I said and she shook her head.

"Ive already accepted." She said quietly avoiding my eyes. "They offered me an academic scholarship and since my parents aren't paying anymore I took it." She said again.

"Well then I'll go with you."

"No. I'm not letting you do that." She said firmly.

"Is my choice."

"Di-"

"Girls, sorry to interrupt but were going to eat dinner with the company soon. So dress nice, Normani you can barrow clothes from Dinah." My dad said leaving.
