"What do you mean she told them?" I asked not caring that everyone was staring. Normani shook her head and walked towards me with open arms.

"Shh its okay It will be fine." There were various murmurs now and I was annoyed.

"All of you fuck off!" I screamed as the crowd dispersed.

"Miss Hansen, Miss Hamilton please make your way to my office." The principle greeted us as Normani looked away.

"Unless its an inconvenience." He said directly towards Normani. She walked off without me towards the office and I trailed behind. We got to his office and Normani walked in with her head still down. He stopped me before I walked in.

"I would like to see Miss Hamilton alone, first." He said making his way in the dark office. I sat there worriedly for about an hour. He came out shortly after.

"Seems Normani will be leaving early, you can continue to your class."  He said before I could disagree. I tried to look in and see her but I couldn't. I sighed.

"Okay." I said going to my class.

Normani's parents were very, very, very big homophobes. I don't know if it was because the way they were raised or because of the way it would look for them, but they were. I was very fearful of what their reaction would be, which Is why we had agreed on keeping our relationship a secret for now. As much as I hated the idea I was okay with it because of their reaction. The Hamilton would definitely not be pleased finding out that their daughter was indeed gay, my parents were fine with it.

I entered the class sitting next to Lauren who was annoyingly tapping her cast on the desk.

"Where's Camila?" I asked sitting up straight.

"Miss Jauregui please cut it out. Again!" The teacher yelled and she rolled her eyes.

"I took her home. Wheres Normani?" She asked looking at the empty seat in front of us.

"Shes going home. So what happened?" I asked her looking at her cast. Lauren started to explain as I groaned. Apparently Lauren's family took a trip to the mountains for their Christmas vacation. Lauren decided to go snowboarding, which she is very good at, and ended up falling down the mountain.

"Anyways I'm fine." She waved it off and I held up her hand.

"Why did you get a grey cast?" I asked frowning.

"Because I can." I rolled my eyes. "Besides Camila wanted me to get a grey one."

I nodded tuning her out.

Winter 2009

"Do I have to go mom?" Camila asked frowning as Lauren hugged her.

"Yes hija, We will get you later." Camila's mom said putting her in the car.

She groaned and tucked her arms together ignoring Lauren who frowned.

"I dont want to go." She whimpered again and I faced her.

"Were just going to the mountains." I said and put my thumb in my mouth. Even though I was nine I still hadn't gotten out of the habit of sucking my thumb.
