"How do you know this? How do I know your not lying? To get me worked up or what ever goes on in your warlock mind?" I don't want this to be true.

"Why would I lie to you? What motive Could I possibly have, miss Bloodborn?" Magnus looked honestly offended.

I put my head in my hands, elbows on the table, and shake my head and mumble something along the lines of "this makes no kind of sense"
"Maybe not, but think about it, this girl comes along, a shadowhunter, that has no idea whatsoever about all of this? Then her mother, who just so happens to be Jocelyn Fairchild, who was married to Valentine Morgenstern, gets kidnapped, and red there comes crying to all of you at the institute, and takes a very strong likening to you and your petty boyfriend and you, who have both lost your parents, so, you want to help her" he takes a breath then continues

"So all she has to do, is bat those green eyes and pout and you guys will destroy yourselves. Then she goes back to daddy and mommy, and tells them everything you guys say and do, and tahdah! She gets her family and your down fall. I'm not saying I'm right. She might have no clue" he shrugged.

My head was gonna explode.
I had to get out. Have Magnus leave. I looked over at Simon, and he saw the panic in my eyes.

He looks down at his phone and becomes my hero.
"Oh my god!" He smacks his forehead "there's been a emergency! Jace has been hurt! Isabelle says she needs you. Now!"
"Thank you for coming Magnus, but we're going to have to continue some other time"

I got up and poked my head out the door, luckily seeing someone passing and called out to them to show Magnus to the door.

Once the warlock was out of the room, I pounced on Simon, trapping him in a hug.

"Thank you so much! I wasn't sure what I was going to do! Thank you!" He was really convincing, when saying that jace was hurt.
"I-it's no problem, R-really!" He stuttered, his face growing to a deep red.

"I might really make you my assistant! You were great!" I let go of him, giving him a peck on his cheek, "thank you, I don't say that often, so I mean it"

"It's okay! Really! It was just saying the first thing that came to my mind!" I laughed.

"Simon," I sat him down, doing the same turning to face him "what Magnus said, about clary, you can't tell anyone, not even clary, can you do that?"
"I can't tell clary? Why not?" He started fiddling with his phone.
"Let me tell you a small story. Okay?"
"I don't understand what that has to do with Cl-" I cut him off
"Just listen" I took his hand. "Not to long ago. Maybe eighteen years ago, there was a man, him name was Valentine Morgenstern. He was Hansom, charming, smart. He had a family, a wife, she was the definition of beauty, her red hair and green eyes, her name was Jocelyn Fairchild" a look of realization covered his face "they had a son. I don't remember the name.
But you see, at some point he had gone mad. He started an uprising against the clave. Loosing in the end. But Jocelyn Fairchild wasn't seen after the uprising. And Valentine, his house, burnt to the ground, with him, his young son, and Jocelyn's parents inside. Leaving nothing but their bones left"

"They say, that Valentine burnt the house, because he was so upset that he didn't win the battle. But with the Circle members back, I'm starting to think, that he didn't really die in that fire. Simon, if the clave knew that clary was Valentines daughter, I don't know what they would do. And as for clary, it won't do her any good for her to know. She's going through enough right now, she doesn't need to find out that her father is a cold blooded, heartless, completely mad, murderer. It would just cause more problems" I explain to Simon. Our hands still clasped together. Simon playing with the ring on my finger, and holding my hand back, in a comforting Manner.
