Walking down the old stairs felt like it took forever.
Down hundreds of steps. The city of bones was creepy. Always has been. I mean, it's made from the bones of the dead shadowhunters. I'm a trained killer, of Demons and rouge downworlders, of course, and this creeped me out.
When we got to where we were going the words started to pour in.
"Clary fairchild, Jace Wayland. We have been expecting you. But as for you, Bexley Raziel Bloodborn" the silent brother, I can't tell them apart, said, or thought, pointing a long bony finger at me. "We did not expect to see you, not after last time"
It was true. I had been here before. And it still haunts me.
"Yeah, well, if it weren't for little red here I wouldn't be here" I mumbled.
"You've been here before? Why?" Clary asked me, I felt Jace tense beside me, knowing how much the last visit have damaged me, and he grabbed my hand, trying to comfort me."That's not important right now" I hissed, my nails digging into Jace's hand. I didn't care if holding his hand made me look weak, right now, Jace's hand was the only thing keeping me from having a mental breakdown.
Have you come for what belongs to You, Bexley Bloodborn? The silent brother inquired
"No. We are here for clary. Nothing more. I don't want 'what belongs to me' back. Thanks very much" I was now clenching my free hand.Very well. You will regret it. The silent brother warned
"No. I won't"
Very well. Clarissa Fairchild, step into the star. Clary did as she was told, And the soul Sword began to descend."NO! Don't hurt them! Please! I'll give you anything! Don't hurt them!"
That wasn't the silent brothers voice. It sounded way to.... Normal.
My vision went spotty.
Now a view came into place.
A man, he seemed young, In his twenties, he had blond hair and light blue eyes, was walking calmly through a hall, he seemed happy. He was a shadowhunter, he had runes.
He now pushed open a door, on the other side were two cribs, a pink, and a blue, a bundle of blankets in each. The scene faded. Leaving my sight blotchy. I blinked. The sword was on Clary's head now.
"Raz?" Jace put his free hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah?" I blinked at him, the black dots dancing in my sight.
"You okay? You're pale. And breathing oddly"
"What? Oh, yeah.. Yeah just..." I could finish as my vision was taken by the view of the green grass of Idris. The man from before, was sitting on a blanket in the grass, two children in front of him. They couldn't even be a year old. One in pink, with small bows in her hair, the other in a deep blue. The infants were odiously the mans. They had his hair and eyes.
The man was speaking to the infants.
"Little Raziel," he stroked the girls face. "My little princess, you're going to be just like your mother, one of the best shodowhunters"He turned to the one in blue, the small boy "you are going to be one of the best as well, but you need to make better life choices then daddy, okay? You need to take care of your sister. Because that's what brothers do"
The man watched as the young girl chewed on her brothers foot and her brother on hers.
Suddenly the view changed. It was in a house now. The same room from the first vision.
The baby's were maybe nine months now. They were crawling around the floor. The door was blocked with a gate, the floor littered with toys. Their fathers voice could be heard from the hall, saying things like "no, please, they're only children" or "please, I'll do anything you want, just don't touch them"
. But the children scooted round happily.
