{Bexley's POV}
I woke up, still wrapped in Jace's arms. I rolled over in his arms, he tightened his hold when I moved, to look at the clock.
5:48 AM.
Nobody else would be up for another forty minutes. So I wiggled my way out of Jace's arms, and began digging through my closet.I didn't have much that would cover the marks on my back. Either the bottom feathers would poke out and be visible, as over half of my tops are midriffs, or, the top of the wings would show, as a lot of my tops have low backs. So I was in a predicament.
I finally found a tank top that would cover the whole thing. Thank the Angel. I paired that with a pair of shorts and fishnet leggings and a pair of black stiletto pumps.
I grabbed the card with the cup, shoving it into my cleavage- don't judge me, it's the safest place for it- and opened the bathroom door.
Jace was still sound asleep, head under my pillows. And I climbed back on top of the bed, watching him.
Laying my head down, my eyes drooped, exhaustion taking over, pulling me back into a deep sleep.
[hours later]
I pulled out of my sleep by Jace's voice.
"Bex. Bexie. Raz. Bex. Razie. Bex. Razie. Razie" without opening my eyes, I could tell he was extremely close to me face, as I could feel his breath.
"Raz. I know you're awake" I could now feel his nose touching mine.
"I'm gonna tickle you" he said, in a sing song voice.I grumbled and rolled over.
"I warned you" suddenly I was being tickled, shrieks of laughter coming from my mouth. I was kicking out.I tried to get up, but Jace rolled me onto my back, and sat on me, straddling me.
"Jace! Stop! Oh god! Stop, please!" I gasped in between giggles."Make me!" He stuck his tongue out at me, still tickling me.
I'm kicking my legs and slapping his arms, laughing like a mad man, and trying to get him off of me.
I know I won't be able to get him off when he's focused on me.
So I force my face onto one of shock and surprise, looking over Jace's shoulder."What the hell is that!" When he turns to look I flip us over so I'm on top, and while he's trying to recover, I jump up, off the bed, Jace following.
I flung my door open, running through, just out of Jace's reach.
"Stop moving!" Jace laughed as his finger tips grazed my hips, trying to catch me.
"Make me!" I skid around the corner of a hallway, passing Isabelle on the way."Hey Isabelle!"
"Hey. Having fun?" She smiles, shaking her head.
"Don't let her pass!" Jace yells at izzy. "Thanks a lot Iz!" he's still laughing as Isabelle lets me last.I stop running at the steps, putting myself in the railing, sliding down.
We were now running around the control room of the institute. People smiling at us as they work, as before clary showed up, this was normal for Jace and I.
When I saw Alec I ran up to him, using him as a human shield.
"Ha! Can't get me now, can you, Wayland?" I shriek, laughing.
"Come on Alec, help a brother out!" Jace snorts as he try's to side step Alec as I use him to block jace."Don't be silly! Alec would nev-" i shriek as Alec grabs my hips, tossing me over his shoulder, spinning around, making me laugh harder.
"Hey! You were suppose to give her to me!" Jace says as Alec begins running, into the training room, where Clary was sitting with Isabelle who had come down while Jace and I were running around.
Soon, i mange to slither out of Alec's grasp, using a punching bag to shield myself.
Jace got his arms wrapped around my waist and was about to pick me up when someone cleared their throat. We all froze and looked over to see Lydia.
Jace let me go and we both straightened stood straight."Is this what you all do instead of train?" She glared pointedly at me.
"You mean bonding? Having fun?" I scoff at her "not having a stick so far up our-"
"Bexley" Alec cut me off, making me glare at him."So you're Jace Wayland?" She sized Jace up, her eyes lingering on him to long for my liking.
"No, I'm the muffin man" I smiled at his response.
"You're quite the legend in Idris"
"I am not the legend. At least I wouldn't be with out Bexley. Get your facts straight" he frowned. She then walked up to Alec, and stood way to close.
"Have you told them yet?" She asked him.
"Told us what?" Isabelle walked up to us, followed by clary."Lydia and I are to be married" Alec announced.
"What?" Jace looked at his parapitai.
"You were supposed to say no!"
"Whoa, plot twist" clary mumbled. I just stared.Isabelle walked out, with clary. And Jace just waited by the door, for me.
"Bex?" Alec asked hopefully, he hoped I would support him.
"What? What do you want me to say Alec?" I looked him in the eyes.
"I don't know. Maybe a 'congrats, Alec!' Or a 'I support you!' Anything!" He was hurt."I can't say that" I shook my head, turned around and began walking towards Jace.
Before I got to the door, my back, where the marks are, began to burn, a searing pain. The pain was so bad it clouded my vision and I let out a loud, ear shattering scream. Falling to the ground.
"Bex!" Alec yelled.
"Razie!" Jace.I heard three pairs of footsteps coming towards me, as I was clawing at my back, screaming in pain.
"Raz? Razie, I need you to tell me what's wrong" Jace's beautiful voice broke through my screams.
Then it just stopped. All the pain. The screaming. The burning. Just gone.
I was breathing heavy, I opened my eyes and rolled into my back, to see Jace's concerned face. He had me in his arms.
"I'm okay" I breathed, panting slightly, from the screaming.
"What's going on? Bex?" Isabelle rushed in, Clary following close behind; both had wide eyes and weapons out."I- I'm okay" I stuttered, pulling myself out of Jace's strong arms.
"No, Bexley Raziel, you are not okay! That was not normal!" Jace stood close next to me, as if he was waiting for me to collapse again."Yes I am! Guys, I love you to death, but, you need to chill out. I'm fine" I waved off their concern.
"I think you should see the silent brothers like mom and dad said" Alec put a hand on my shoulder.
"Guys, that's not a good idea" Isabelle came to my rescue.
"Why not? I think it's a fine idea" Lydia spoke, earning a death glare from Jace and Isabelle, and causing me to spin around, anger plainly displayed on my face."Yeah? And isn't that nice! You think you have a say in this! Like part of the family!" I start advancing towards her, my jaw clenched, knuckles white, from balling them into fists. Intimation was clear on her face, although she tried to hide it.
"You are not part of this family. And even though you're marrying Alec, doesn't mean you are. It takes love to be part of a family. It takes respect. And trust. And let me make something clear; you have none of that from me. And I doubt you have any from Jace, Clary or Isabelle. You know why?" I was speaking through my teeth.
We were inches apart, Alec was standing next to his Wife-to-be and Jace was standing behind her, In case anything went down.
"Because you aren't marrying Alec for love. Are you? No! You're marrying him for power. Power over the institute. And that's not right. That right there, made me loose any respect I could have had deep, deep, down. And trust? You never had that" I growled, as my irritation escalated, my back began heating up, just a slight warmth.
"Bex" Clary's voice was worried and urgent.
"Bexley, come on" Isabelle had the same tone, as she started walking me out of the room, backwards.
"Put this on" clary handed me her jacket
"Wh-"
"Just do it" I slipped the jacket on, and was then pulled out of the room by the girls. Up into Clary's room."What's going on?"
"Your marks are glowing"
