Poem #46: "The Warm Embrace"

There was a girl whose heart was warm

Whose love left her to cry and mourn

With that the heart grew cold and broken

The words in her mind were left unspoken

Deep inside she suffered the pain

Nothing can she do to regain

One day a boy whose clothes were rags

He looked at her sad sad eyes

And whispered "Thy shall live another day if she gets a warm embrace"

She stared at him confused, disarrayed. Feeling of hers unexplained.

She asked thee "Will I live another day? Can't you give me the warm embrace?"

He shook his head and whispered again "Thy shall live another day if she gets a warm embrace"

The boy left without a farewell.

Instead of staring where he once was.

She thought of places where to dwell

She left her home where she stayed for days

Crying and mourning to her loss

But now that time is short

She needs to make a new report

She roamed around her garden dear

Where her love she used to hear

Singing in the garden with drum

But now their garden long forgotten

There she saw her love's favorite roses

Red and blue and pink all over

She smiled at how beautiful they were

She heard a sound and was alert for who opposes

"Mi' lady is all alone?" Said a man all dressed in suit

"I was admiring the roses." She said stiffly

"First time I I've seen mi' lady alone really"

He said, his smile admired.

"What does mi' lady desire?"

"A warm embrace to live another day."

She replied "this the boy said after leaving me in disarray"

"A warm embrace? You have a love who can provide you that wish."

"Sadly my love has died. My love whom I cannot replace."

She looked at him curious. "How does one know that thy self has a love?"

He chuckled softly. "Everyone know mi' Lady's love, even the heaven above."

"If everyone knew my love, then why don't you?"

"Tis, a long tale I might tell. I've been away all year all due

To my mother whose sick in bed."

"I'm sorry you have to endure such dread..."

She bowed her head. "But why has thy come back all dressed?"

"Tis another tale, yet similar to yours

That boy who came gave me the same chore"

His head was bowed. "Did man run out of time?"

"Time is an illusion. Yet time is always right"

Thus the girl ran to him

Pulled him to a hug, his body really slim.

Man was taken aback

By her sudden attack

Another day

To live, not to forget

Another day for a warm embrace.
