Poem #76: "The message app"

The text that we give
The laughs that we share
The emojis that we send
The friendship that we have, you can't get from anywhere

Every morning, every night
I check my phone for a reply
And each time you start typing
I just end up with a smile

But sadly that's all gone
Ever since I went away
It's getting harder to connect with you
This sounds like one very sad cliche

(Bridge)
My message app just sits there Taking up all my phone's space
I might as well erase it
But I know that's not fair

(Pre-chorus)
I still miss you
I want to see you
I want to be there for you
But how can I when I'm a million miles away from you

(Chorus)
My message app just sits there
Glaring back at me
My message app just sits there
Reminding me so much of you

I can't help to think
Of the time we spent together
How I've taken all that for granted
Oh I wish all that have lasted...
A little longer...
