I climbed out of the beat up, yellow cab, as Anthony followed closely behind me. He handed the driver a wad of cash and turned to smile proudly at the small diner in front of us.

"This is one of my and John's favorites." He put his hand gently on my back as we walked inside. My long, damp hair fell around my shoulders and laid on top of the Butthole Surfers top Anthony had lent me. I felt awkward not wearing a bra in public, but mine had ripped from last night, and Anthony didn't have any laying around. I crossed my arms across my chest, hoping it would conceal the notice of it.

I followed Anthony as a waitress lead us to a booth in the back, by a window. I slid in, and eagerly picked up my menu. I ordered a black coffee to start, watching as Anthony did the same. I looked at the list of pancakes, picking out what I was going to order right away: chocolate chip pancakes.

I set down my menu, and moments later Anthony did the same. I fiddled with my fingers, feeling his heavy gaze on me, my chest, and my lips. I had the nerve to talk.

"So.. what happened last night after you found me?" I met eyes with Anthony. Big mistake. They were a fierce brown. But had such a loving, powerful aura, it made me want to melt.

He furrowed his brows, as he focused on me. "Well, you hit your head pretty hard, and then passed out. So, after John got back from beating up the guy..."

I stopped him there. "John?"

"Yeah. You know, John Frusciante? He was with me when we saw him... you know, to you. I told him to take care of that asshole while I checked on you."

I nodded my head, as he continued speaking. "Anyways, I took you home, and changed you into some more comfortable clothing and then put you to bed. I was going to clean up your cuts, but I figured you could do that when you woke up."

I ran my fingers through my hair, feeling a large bump where I hit the ground. Tears brimmed my eyes as I thought about last night and a croak escaped my lips, whilst trembles shook my body.

"Shh baby, it's okay. Nothing will ever happen to you again, I promise." Anthony reached across the table and grabbed my hand. I wiped my face with the other and took a gulp of the coffee to calm myself. I let out a breath and felt better. Hopefully, all of this pent up sadness and fear had worked it's way out. No more crying, right Lilly?

"So, I never caught your name.." Anthony said, pulling his hand back.

I cleared my throat, "Lilly Kinks."

A smile spread across Anthony's face. "That's the cutest name I've ever heard."

For the first time all day, I laughed. "You think so? Everyone calls me Kinky." I blushed and pushed some hair behind my ear.

"Kinky? Is it a nickname for your reputation?" I saw Anthony wink, and it made me blush more. I managed to shake my head, letting out much-needed giggles.

Our waitress brought over our food, and I dug in right away. Chocolate chip pancakes were my favorite. I looked up from my plate, after devouring one full pancake to see Anthony smiling at me.

"What?" I asked smiling.

"You sure like pancakes." I laughed slightly and then dove right back into eating.

"Listen, Lilly, I hope you're alright. I heard you crying in the shower, and I was really worried. I can take you home if you want too. I could even track this guy down and let you burn him alive if you wanted. I just want to make sure you're okay."

I felt happiness bubble up in my stomach, and I managed to smile warmly at him. "Thank you so much. Thank you for saving me last night, and then taking care of me. Considering you didn't even know me, that was really sweet. I think I'm going to be okay." Anthony looked at me for a moment, before his mouth erupted into a pearly white smile.
