"Mason!" I yelled when I saw him walk into the kitchen. He gave me a quick tight hug and shook Spencer's hand
"Sorry we're late, it took forever to find this place."
"Not a problem. Glad you're here now."
"Me too." His words were lost in the loud music but it was obvious what he was saying. His arm was still around me so I slid out and wrapped my arms around Spencer's waist.
"Want a drink?" Spencer said as he handed Mason a beer. Jace walked through the kitchen and when he saw Mason he pushed through him and left. Mason glanced at him and I waited for him to make a snide remark but didn't hear any.
"Are you okay?" I asked Mason with concern eyes.
He glanced at me and gave me a half smile "I'm fine. Why?"
"I don't know... You seem off."
"Just because you're my best friend doesn't mean you have to know everything." He snapped.
"Hey," Spencer grabbed my arm and pulled me closer to his chest "she's just worried man. You don't have to raise your voice at her."
He looked at me before grabbing another beer and leaving the kitchen.
Spencer kissed my neck "Maybe he needs time to chill a bit."
I nodded "I don't know what's going on with him. He's been really off lately."
"Maybe he's dealing with stuff with school and sports."
"Yea.... Probably." I turned and wrapped my arms around his neck, sliding my tongue across his bottom lip. He moaned and I pulled him towards the dance floor which has taken place in the living room. Pressing my back against Spencer's chest, I slowly started moving against him feeling his hard body on mine. My body felt like it was melting into him as heat burned through me. One of his hands stayed on my thigh and the other was sliding up under my shirt. My breath caught when he gripped me tighter. I pressed my back against him even harder, resting my head on his shoulder and closing my eyes. My body trembled when I felt him harden against my back. I don't know if I was horny or if I was just drunk but I brought my hand behind my back and let it slide down over the bulge in his jeans. Spencer trailed his fingers lower, skimming them over my lace underwear and I let out a moan, my body begging for his hands to go even lower. Suddenly he pulled away and I shot my eyes back open.
"Why did you stop?" I ask. Desperation filled in my voice.
"Because if I go on any further, I might just take you here in front of everyone."
I grinned and watched him walk into the kitchen. I decided to stay and dance with Carly but before I got any closer to her, someone grabbed my arm, causing me to turn my head to see an angry Mason. He pulled me towards the backyard, slowly making our way through the crowd.
"Ma-"
Mason turned and roughly pressed his mouth to mine. My eyes went wide and I pushed against his chest trying to break the kiss.
"What the hell Mason?!"
"Mackenzie, I want you. I've always wanted you."
My jaw dropped and I shook my head "No."
"I love you Mac."
"No, Mason you don't. Im just you're best friend. You know that!"
"Yes I do Mac. I've loved you ever since I've met you. I even plan on moving here so we could be together."
I glanced to see people staring at us and I tried to lower my voice "Mason you're my best friend. Don't do this. Please, don't ruin our friendship."
"Mac, I don't think you understand. I don't think of us as "best friends". I never did. I've loved you even more than friends. I even asked your dad if I could date you but he said not until we both ran off to college."
"Mason," I said softly "I love you, just not the way you do. You even said it yourself, I'm like you're little sister."
"I was lying! You're one night stand boyfriend was right there so I had to!"
My jaw dropped and I raised my hand to slap him across the face"Mason!" I hissed.
"Mac just give us a chance. I can love you even more then he can. Better then anyone can. "
"I'm in love with Spencer. But Mason, that still wouldn't mean I would think of us that way if I didn't. You're like a br-"
Before I could finish, his lips were on mine again. I leaned away as fast as I can "Stop!" I yelled as I shoved him away.
When I shoved him away, I see Spencer coming out the back door and plunging into Mason with his shoulder, knocking them both to the ground. Brandon and another friend of Mason were on top of Spencer trying to get him off, followed closely by Ian and Zack. I shot forward trying to help out but Ian held me to his chest telling me not to get in the middle of it. Brandon and his friend Sean, held Mason back as he continued to go after Spencer. Spencer just stood there with his hands down at his sides.
"I thought you were an MMA fighter?" Mason hissed.
Spencer just stood there and glared at him
"HIT ME! I KNOW YOU WANT TO!" Mason yelled "Enough!" Zach boomed. "Everyone get out. Party's over. Get out!"
Everyone started shuffling towards the door. I can see Mason taunting Spencer, who was now standing beside me. Spencer's arms were full of warmth as his fingers made small circles on my side and back.
"You okay?" He asked while watching Mason leave.
"I'm fine. Are you? I'm sorry, I had no idea any of that was going to happen."
He chuckled " I know, you didn't but that doesn't mean the rest of us didn't,"
I looked up at him confused and he continued "It was pretty obvious he wanted you. You just didn't realize it because you thought you were only friends."
I felt so stupid. "Ugh, how much of that did you see?!"
"Everything. I just wanted to wait for the right moment." He tilted my head up and I was surprised to see a wide grin on his face
"And by the way Mackenzie, I love you too, soooo much."
I huge smile took over my face as I pressed my mouth to his.
After everyone left, we all helped cleaned up. Once we finish, Spencer pulled me towards his bedroom. He flipped the lights off and we changed into our sleeping garments. We slipped under his comforter, and he wrapped his arms around me, pressing my chest to his.
I pressed my face into his neck, placing a light kiss. After a few minutes of silence I spoke up.
"And to think, I thought the drama was all over, but I guess I have to avoid them again."
"One of these days, everyone will get the hint that we are never going to leave each other. They'll back off eventually."
"I hope so." I whispered
"I love you Mac."
My heart soared "I love you too Spencer."
