I sat in the waiting room for half an hour and waited for Jace to get everything ready. When he finally did, he called me over to his station and had me sit down on the chair. He can probably tell how scared and nervous I was because he looked at me and said
"If your not ready for this, I understand. But I'm not going to lie to you Mac, it hurts. But who knows, maybe you might not even feel the pain. It's different for everyone. Some people don't feel a thing and some hate the entire process."
"No no no. I want it today. I just hope it would go well and look great in the end. I'm trusting you with this Jace."
He cupped a hand around my neck and pulled me close "I know." He kissed me softly on my forehead before dropping his hand and leaning against the counter. I already missed his touch.
"Alright so where do you want it?"
"Um... Right here." I said as I pointed at my upper right rib cage.
"Turn to your side."
"What? Why?
"So I could show you how the tattoo would look like once it's finished." I turned to my side and heard papers shuffling for a minute before I saw his eyes flash with heat as he placed the piece of paper on my upper rib cage.
"Lay down on your side." I sucked in a breath when he pulled up my shirt.
He looked at me and gave me a half smile "So how long will this take?" I asked, keeping my breathing in control
"A few hours. Maybe four. I want it very detailed." He set everything up before turning back to face me, "okay so I'll get started on the outline. If you ever need me to stop, feel free to let me know."
I took deep breaths in and out "okay. I'm ready."
Once the outline was on, he got the tattoo gun ready and placed his hand on my rib cage.
"This is going to look awesome Mac."
"It better!" I warned
Once the needle touched my skin, my body froze but relaxed after a few seconds. It wasn't as painful as I thought it would be but it was uncomfortable. The sound of the gun didn't help much either.
"Still feeling okay there?"
"Yeah. Just pay attention to your job!"
He laughed and continued his work. When the outline was finished, he began shading and that's when the pain started to sink in.
I started thinking about things to help distract me from the pain. I then realized that his hands were touching me. I didn't even think about that since I was too focused on the lines he was making. But now that I realized it, It was all I could think about. I tried doing breathing exercises but Jace said I was moving to much. His hands gripped my waist to keep me from moving to much and it took everything in me to stop the shivers that wanted to make their way through me. I ached for his hands to go lower, to feel his long fingers caress me. God this was a bad idea. Think about something else Mac, think about something else....the gun stopped and Jace tilted his head toward me.
"Are you humming?" Shit. I must've been thinking to hard that I didn't even realize I was humming.
"Maybe."
He laughed and ripped off his gloves and opened up a drawer. He handed me his iPhone with a pair of headphones.
"Here. I'm almost done baby." He pressed his lips to my neck and went back to work.
The music ended up being a good distraction from the dirty scenarios that were going on in my mind. My rib cage was so numb that I didn't realize Jace was finished until he placed a quick kiss on my lips. My eyes shot open and I ripped out the ear buds.
