Harley's POV:
I didn't know what was going on but I couldn't help but think the whole way to the diner. Viper voluntarily handed over her keys. I couldn't decide whether she was drunk or what. I couldn't help but think that she just didn't want to ride with me. I must have made her mad with our conversation yesterday. I pushed my thoughts aside as we pulled into the diner parking lot. Sammy and I got out and walked into the restaurant where a waitress "slightly" looked the brothers up and down as she asked where we'd like the be seated. I saw Viper give her a death glare as she looked over Dean a second time. I laughed to myself and followed the prissy waitress to where our booth was. Sam sat down and, before I could make it over there, Dean had squished in beside Vi. What did no body want me around her or something? I felt the heat on my cheeks rise as I got more pissed.
"So," Dean began, "here's the plan. Vi and I will go question the family that last reported this 'clown sighting'."
I looked over at Harley and suggested that we do that instead and let Dean and Sam talk to the police. She shrugged. "It's probably better the other way anyways." She put her elbows on the table and raised her hands to her mouth. Alright what the hell. I wanted to scream at her and ask what the hell the problem was.
"Alright." I said instead. The waitress then came up and asked our orders and pranced away, giving a smirk to Dean. He didn't seem to notice at all, turning back to talk to Vi. The lady eventually brought us our food and my chocolate milk. I mumbled my thanks and she exited. After finishing our food Sam tossed a few dollar bills on the table and we exited the diner. I pulled Vi to the side once we got outside.
"What's the deal?" I whispered.
"What deal?" She asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
"First you don't speak to me, now you don't even want to be on a case with me?" I asked, feeling hurt.
"No. I just think you and Sam work good together. We could use some time away from each other anyways." She replied. It felt like a knife jabbed into my heart. We hadn't had 'time away from each other' in years. Not since Dad died. She turned and walked away after that, getting into Dean's Impala. I sighed and made my way to hers. Tossing Sam the keys.
"Everything alright?" He questioned.
"Peachy." I said, sitting in the passenger seat.
Viper's POV:
I saw the hurt in Harley's eyes and I wanted to tell her. She needed to be with Sam at all times, that was the angel's orders. I'd rather have the anger of Harley rather than the wrath of heaven's angel's hunting my ass down. I sighed and slumped in my seat.
"You alright?" Dean questioned.
"I'm peachy." I lied. He knew I was lying but decided not to press the issue any further. We pulled up to a house a few miles from the diner and got out. I made sure I had my badge and followed Dean's lead. He opened the door and I stood behind.
"Hi, Mrs.Smith?" He asked the older looking woman that opened the door. We flashed our badges.
"Yes? Is there a problem?" She asked worriedly, clenching at her nightgown.
"No," I replied for him, "just wanted to ask you a few questions about your son." I stated. Her eyes fell with sadness before shooting back up to us, showing a fake smile.
"Yes, come in." She stated, ushering us in. I entered after Dean as she offered us coffee. I denied, as did Dean.
"So, your son," Dean started, as we sat across the table from Mrs.Smith. "He went missing a while back?"
