Viper's POV:
"So, Poseidon killed him?" I questioned with furrowed brows. Harley had just explained the new case to us and it was a lot to consume at once.
"That's what he claimed was after him, 45 minutes later he was reported dead. Drowned in his living room. Of all places." Harley stated, flipping through an old book.
"Is that even possible?" Dean questioned.
"Apparently," Sam commented.
"Well, let's go." I stated impatiently.
"Well, don't get too hasty." Harley sighed, closing the book and sticking it in her duffle bag. "You and Dean will talk to the old lady, Sam and I will go talk to the cops about the murder a few weeks ago. Sound good?" We all nodded in answering and I picked up my bag, looking over at Bobby.
"I'll stay here, answer the phones. Just in case anyone gets squirrelly on ya." He stated, answering my unasked question. I nodded and walked out, not even thinking about hugging him before exiting. I haven't felt the need to hug anyone lately, at all.
Dean and I decided to dig up as much dirt on Merriam Baxter as we could before going to question her. We asked around the neighborhood, around the local stores, and it all seemed to come out clean. She donated money every week, went to church every Sunday, she's loved by the whole town. After calling Harley and making sure she and Sam weren't still at the police department, Dean and I went to learn a little more about her husbands murder.
"Well Agent Smith, Agent Wellington, we're glad to see the Feds involved in a case such as this. It seems like they skim over little towns like ours often." A man said, walking us down the hallway to an office on the left side.
"Well we can assure you," Dean said, "small town cases are just as important." The man smiled at his comment and nodded.
"So do you think the old bat is crazy or what?" I questioned, leaning against the door frame. Dean shot me a 'shut the hell up' look. I shrugged at him in response.
"Well, I wouldn't say that." The man commented.
"Then what is it? Is she a drunk? Have a little issue with 'illegal substances'?" I asked, making air quotes with my hands, resembling a smoking motion with my other hand shortly after.
"Look, I don't see how any of this has anything to do with-"
"She's only joking, bringing some humor into such a sad, tragic situation." Dean interrupted, shooting me a glare. I pretended to take an invisible key and lock my mouth with it, tossing the key to the left of me. He rolled his eyes. "Do you have any files we could borrow Sir?" Dean questioned, smiling.
"Uh-uh, yes of course." The man said, searching in a cabinet before pulling an envelope of papers out and handing them to him.
"Thank you. We'll keep you posted if anything comes up." Dean replied, shaking the mans hand before turning to me. I put my index finger up in a 'hold on a second' way. I ran across the room a little, picking up the invisible key I had tossed and pretending to unlock my mouth.
"Thanks." I stated, shaking his hand and looking over at Dean. "After you." I signaled to the door. He rolled his eyes and walked out of the room, me following closely behind.
Harley's POV:
Sam suggested I get some sleep so we went to a motel for a few hours. I laid down on the bed and not even a few seconds later I was passed out.
I was sitting in a dark room, tied to what seemed to be a wooden chair. I struggled to get free but failed. A few seconds later someone walked into the room, the darkness casting a shadow over their body, only leaving their feet visible. The brown combat boots seems awfully familiar. I stared as the person neared me, their body becoming more visible with every step.
"Viper?" I questioned lowly, seeing my sister standing in front of me.
"You poor thing," she stated, not seeming too bothered at the fact that I was tied to a chair. "Viper left a long time ago." Her eyes flashed black, sending shivers down my spine.
"You leave her alone, you son of a bitch." I spat.
"Wow, brave. Don't you see?" The demon questioned, bending down in front of me, picking up a knife and twirling it on her fingertips. "This is how it will always be. No matter what you do, no matter where she runs, I'll always find her." She smirked.
"Go to Hell." I spat.
"Already been, Crowley's not, what should I say, uh-not my biggest fan at the moment." She chuckled. "So home's not an option."
"Why? Why do you continue to bother her?" I questioned coldly.
"Because she's mine!" The demon yelled, making my blood run cold. "She's mine! Always has been! And now that she's soulless? Even better! No more bitching! 'Don't touch her! Don't kill her! Get out of me you son of a bitch!' Blah, blah, blah." She mocked Viper's cries.
"I'm gonna kill you my self." I spat.
"Oh, I'm sure. Go ahead, smite me now and kill your sister in the process." She smirked. I rolled my eyes. "You know you want to. After all, she's not really herself now anyways, right?"
"You don't know what you're talking about." I spat.
"Oh I don't? So having her soulless is fine? You know just as well as I do what you should do, Harley. Put her out of her misery." She stated, putting the knife in my hand and pressing it to her throat. "Do it!" She yelled, making my eyes flinch.
"Rot. In. Hell." I spat.
"Do it! Kill her! Go ahead and do it!" She screamed louder, making my blood boil and tears stream from my eyes.
"Harley! Wake up!" I heard a voice say. "Harley! It's okay, wake up." I noticed then that it wasn't part of my dream. I woke up to Sam shaking me. I was breathing hard, tears streaming from my face. "It's okay, shh. I'm here." He rocked me back and forth.
"Where's Viper?" I asked hurriedly, sounding short winded. "Where is she?" I hurriedly got up from the bed, walking over to my phone.
"Harley, just tell me what's going up." Sam grabbed me.
"He's after her." I stated, giving Sam a pleading look.
"Who is? Harley what's going on?" He asked, holding my arms.
"The demon. The one that possessed her a year or two ago," I explained. He stared at me for a second and I felt another hot tear escape from my eyes. "He's back."
