Riley's POV:

It was a couple of days after the surgery, and I wasn't feeling like crap anymore.

Harry sat next to me on the bed, watching the news and sipping out of his cup of coffee.

"Ew," he sputtered. "This coffee is trash."

I rolled my eyes and took a sip, immediately regretting it. "You're right," I choked out. "That coffee seriously sucks."

Dr. Kyte entered the room.

"Hey Dr. Kyte," I said.

She smiled and looked at Harry.

"Harry? A moment please?"

Harry kissed my nose and nodded. "I'll be right outside."

"So," Dr. Kyte started. "We've kept you under very close watch these past couple of days."

I pulled the hospital covers over my cold body. "And?"

"And after seeing how seriously that fall was to your spine, I'm sorry to say. Riley, you're going to be in a wheelchair for the rest of your life."
