Chapter 26
Robin's POV
3 months later...
I finally moved into Barney's apartment last month. I've been meaning to for so long, but so much has been going on. It feels amazing to be able to come to my husband every night instead of only coming home to him half of the time. Now we get to do everything from eat breakfast together to having sex anytime we please. Not that sex is on my mind constantly, but it's nice to know I can have it more often if I choose to.
In addition to moving in with Barney, I've been thinking about the miscarriage not that long ago. It took me about a month to accept that it happened. I thought it would change me from wanting to have children in alternative method, but it didn't. In fact, I truly feel it's motivated me to want pursue adoption. I haven't talked to Barney yet about it though. He should be home soon and when he walks through the door, I'll talk to him about it.
30 minutes later...
Barney comes walking through the door. I rush to his side and pull him towards the kitchen. I ask him to sit down while I choose to stand up for this conversation. "Barney there's something I have to tell you." His smile quickly turns to a frown. "It's nothing bad I promise. In fact, I think it's actually pretty good news." His frown changes to an expression of curiousity. "I've put a lot of thought into a major decision. I don't know if you're ready to do it. If not that's totally fine, but I want to adopt a child." Barney gets up and throws himself at me. "I'm ready too. Let's adopt a child. It doesn't matter if it's a baby or an older kid. Do you have any preference?" "I'd like to adopt a baby. I want to be able to start this new chapter of our lives from the beginning." "That sounds perfect. Tomorrow we'll go to the adoption agency and get the ball rolling. Should we tell the gang or keep it a surprise?" I grin. "Let's keep it on the downlow until tomorrow. After all, not all surprises are bad."
