You know the feeling you get when you see snow falling for the first time? You stare at the falling white flakes as they turn everything around you white and cold. You are amazed that so many little things can turn your surroundings into something new. That this change is an exciting new adventure. And in your stomach, a surge of energy stirs and you can't wait to get out there and have fun. That feeling of new energy and excitement was swirling inside my stomach, making me feel content and happy. It had been two days since the attack from Theodore and I had come to be completely at peace with having Cade around. He helped around the cabin, with some murmured complaints of course, but had complied anyways. At this moment, we were both laying in bed and he was still asleep. He had his arms wrapped around me and I was watching him sleep. I gently messed with his hair and caressed his jaw. Outside, the air had turned cold and the threat of snow was increasing. Fire crackled in the fireplace on the other side of the room, but with Cade and the blankets covering us, it was almost not needed. His chest rose and fell slowly but I could tell that he would wake up soon. I memorized his face. His long nose, pink lips, his closed eyes and the way his hair fell over his face. I wondered what he thought of me. His breathing changed and he took in a deep breath before stretching and tightening his hold on me. His eyes slowly opened and he smirked when he saw me."Good morning." He said with a husky voice.
"Good Morning." I say in a whisper and smile.
"How long have you been awake?" He asks softly caressing my shoulder.
"Not long." I lie and smile slightly.
He stared at me and smirked.
"What?" I ask quietly.
"You're beautiful." He says and kisses my forehead.
I felt heat rush to my cheeks and I nuzzled my face into the crook of his neck.
"You're ridiculous." I murmur.
"You don't believe me?" He asks quietly running his fingers lightly across my arm.
"It's not that." I say shrugging. "It's just cheesy."
He scoffs and smiles. "I can be cheesy."
I shoved his arm off and slid out of bed. I felt the air move as he tried to grab my arm but I quickly moved and smiled. He groaned and lay back against the pillow. His eyes left a burning trail as he watched me walk to the fridge. We hadn't mated yet but I knew it would have to be soon. He was getting restless.
"What do you want for breakfast?" I ask pulling out the milk and eggs.
He mumbled one word into the pillow and smiled.
"What?" I look over to see him smirking.
"I said, you. But I'll settle for some eggs and toast." He pulled the covers back and stood up out of bed.
I blushed and turned away from him. Theodore used to say things like that but the way Cade said them made me crazy. He knew how to get under my skin, but not in a bad way. The hair on the back of my neck stood and before I could turn around, he encircled me with his arms. He moved my hair and kissed the side of my neck.
"I'm sorry if that made you uncomfortable." He whispered.
I turned around and wrapped my arms around his neck. I smirk, "it didn't."
He smiles and gently pecks my lips with his. "Good."
He let go of me, and my arms released him. He walked away to the bathroom and turned back to the table. I busied myself with making breakfast. I was putting the milk back in the fridge when the landline rang. I jumped slightly and cursed under my breath. I shut the fridge door and walked to the other side of the cabin before picking up the phone.
