It had been a long and surprising day. I lay on the top of the bed and stared at the ceiling thinking about it. Apa said that as soon as my mother's name had been asked about he called Elder Knight. Apa or as everyone else knew him, Jonah Fedorov. At least, that's the name he gives. Obviously angels don't actually have last names. It's just the one he adopted, it means gift of God. He had a brother, or as close as a brother an angel can actually have, he was more like a comrade, and his name is Raymond. He was Moira's father. He died about a century ago in a feud with the elves. Yuri's father is Jonah's only son. Dusan was Jonah's first child. He was a product of two angels, unlike Jonah's only daughter who was a product of human and angel. My grandmother, Imogen. Her life span was only double that of a normal human. My mother, Mary, was given up for adoption to protect her. She met my father in the new lands and then the rest is history. I had never met my grandmother, but then again she died just before I became a teenager. Jonah on the other hand, had found my mother and wanted to be involved in her life. Yuri has an older brother but he hasn't been around for a long time. He just disappeared. Yuri has been alive for almost five hundred years and has not made any attempt at making a family.
I told Apa about Theodore. What he did...what we did. He was angry at him of course but he understood that what I did in those first hundred years or so was beyond my control. After Apa had left when I was sixteen, he ran into problems with elves and that's when he lost Raymond. By the time he had come back, he had heard that we had all died. He left and never came back. That is...until he got the call.
I heard the door downstairs open and I knew that Cade was home. I let out sigh and rubbed my eyes. After Nadia's death, Elder Knight insisted that I talk to him about my feelings and my past. I resisted at first but then I couldn't help myself. I had kept everything in for so long that when I started talking to him, everything just spilled out. I told him about my family, my transition, and most importantly about my time with Theodore. I closed my eyes and thought back to those times.
-----
I remember a few years before I left him. We had just settled into a new town and bought a new big house. It wasn't just Theo and I. We had a group of us but we were on top.
I sat in the dark living room. I was laid back on the chair watching the fire. My hair was wild and I was still bloody from the hunt we had just gotten back from. I only had on a robe and a glass of wine. My ears perked as the door opened. My heart beat quickened and I smirked.
"I knew I'd find you in here." Theo's voice was deep.
"I doubt it was very hard for you." I say as he walks in front of the fire.
He looks at me and smiles. He walked to me and knelt down in front of me. His hands traveled up my legs and grabbed my waist. He yanked me forward and I dropped the glass of wine, letting out a yelp. I sat up and smirked as I touched his hair and shoulders. He kissed me hard and bit my lip. I began to feel overwhelmed by him.
----
I jolted up and my eyes flew up. My body was hot and I was breathing hard. Then I froze as I saw Cade leaning against the door. His face was blank but his eyes were dark.
"Were you thinking about him?" His voice was tinged with hurt and anger.
My throat ran dry and I looked at the ground. "No I-"
"Don't lie...please." He says.
My eyes find his and I frown. "Yes."
He lets out a sigh and runs his hands through his hair. "I think..." He paused and I could tell he was fighting himself emotionally. "I think I'm going to go on patrol tonight and give Diego a break."
