I sit on the hospital bed, looking around the white, dingy walls. I tap my fingers nervously on my lap, anxiously waiting for the conformation of my release. Suddenly, I hear the door creak open.

"Good news, you're cancer free." Dr. Smith says, releasing the weight off my shoulder.

"Thank you." I smile and reach over and hug her.

"You were such a fighter, there's hardly a need to thank me, Alyssa." She reveals to me and let's go of our embrace.

"Alright, well I guess this is good bye." Dr. Smith dismisses me with a small smile.

"I wish you and Harry all the best in the future. Good bye, Alyssa." She says, causing me to bring a big goofy from to my face.

"Thanks and good bye." I say and thank her as I exit her office for the last time.

I talk extra long to walk back to my room. I walk around basically every floor and hallway of my wing of the hospital. I pass tons of rooms, some with newborn babies, some older ladies playing cards at a table, a guy pacing up and down one side of the hall, and a little girl sitting alone with a colouring book. She catches my attention, so I decide to go sit next to her.

"What are you colouring?" I ask and pull a chair over to her table. She looks a little weary.

"A princess. Do you want to colour with me?" She shyly asks.

"Of course." I respond as she pulls out a page of her colouring book, carefully so she doesn't rip the paper, and lays it in front of me.

"Here you can use some of my crayons." She passes me a blue, yellow and red. We colour in silence for a few minutes.

"What's your name?" I ask her.

"Rosie." She replies, still colouring gently.

"That's pretty, mines Alyssa." I tell her and she smiles up at me.

"Can we be friends?" She asks innocently while her young blue eyes peer into mine.

"I thought we already were." I reply, making her giggle.

We stay colouring with each other for a few minutes. Until she shyly looks over at me.

"Do you have a boyfriend?" She asks curiously.

"I do, do you?" I ask making her screw up her nose.

"Ewww, no. Never. boys have couties." She says, causing me to laugh.

"But I think your boyfriend is over there. He keeps looking at you." She whispers the last part in my ear. I turn around and Harry is standing in the door way of the lounge. As soon as he sees me, he starts walking over with a small grin on his face.

"It is my boyfriend. You're smart." I tell her and she giggles.

"Rosie, this is my boyfriend, Harry. Harry, this is my new friend, Rosie." I introduce them and Rosie becomes very shy suddenly.

"Hi Rosie. Ooh, what princess are you colouring?" He asks, causing me to laugh under my breath.

"Sleeping beauty." She shyly replies.

"Cool, she looks just like you." He tells her, and her eyes almost pop out of her head.

"Really? I look like a princess?" She exclaims, super excited.

"Absolutely. You can be sleeping beauty and, hmm, who should Alyssa be?" He asks her and she ponders for a minute before answering.

"Snow White." She replies and he nods.

"I think so too. Two very pretty princesses." He says, making both of us blush and him smile.

"Well, I better get my princess home." He says, laying a hand on my shoulder. I nod and he says good bye to Rosie, and walks over to the door to wait for me.

"Still think boys have couties?" I ask her and she giggles a little bit.

"Maybe, but not your boy. I like him." She says looking up at me.

"Me too. Well, I better get back to my prince. I'll see you again?" I ask and she nods, getting up on her tippy toes and hugging me.

"Bye Alyssa!" She says and waves from her table across the room. I wave back and make my way over to Harry.

"Ready to go home, babe?" Harry asks me as he wraps his arm around my shoulder.

"Very ready." I reply and he gently kisses me on the forehead.
