Mirror Glaze
Ingredients
•2 packets of gelatin (5 tsp) + 1/2 cup of water
•2 cups white chocolate chip
•1 1/2 cups white sugar
•2/3 cups sweet condensed milk
•1/2 cup water
•Black and White gel food colorDirections
1) Mix gelatin and 1/2 cup of water and leave to bloom. Place chocolate chips in a large heatproof bowl and set aside.
2) In a medium saucepan, place sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and the remaining 1/2 cup of water. Bring to a simmer then add the bloomed gelatin, and stir until smooth.
3) Pour mixture over the chocolate chips and let it set for 3 minutes. Stir gently until smooth.
4) Measure out 1/2 cup of mirror glaze into a sprouted container and color white. Pour black mirror glaze into the white glaze and fill to the 2 cup mark. Stir with a Popsicle stick for a more marble effect.
5) Before pouring over the cake, make sure the glaze is at body temperature. Pour over the cake and enjoy!Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients
•2 cups (4 sticks) butter
•6 cups powder sugar
•4-6 T milk
•1 tsp vanilla extractDirections
1) Mix all of the ingredients until smoothTips: 1) When making the glaze wait 5 min for the gelatin to bloom. You will be able to tell when the mixture thickens and becomes solid.
2) When you simmer make sure it's warm enough to dissolve the sugar and melt the gelatin.
3) When checking the temperature of the glaze, you can use a candy thermometer or feel the sides of the container and make sure it's the same temperature as your fingers.
