Chapter 19: The Island at the Center of the World

I was somewhat correct about our "rest". After a few days at the base we were told that intelligence reported large amounts of Xylvanian tank movement on the center Coral Atoll Island known as Amazon Island.

We then learned of Ingrid and a few other high command leaders landing on the island on April 6th.

Are agents then confirmed a large scale assault on the major city of Hirosaki. The city was at the center of the island.

The agents also told us that the siege began on the morning of April 7th.

Then are agents reported that the soldiers already inside the city were under siege from large amounts of Xylvanian Tanks, Artillery and Infantry.

The Frontiers response is to send the 3rd Tank Division and Delta Battalion with large air support.

The defenders were running low on supplies and are air drops were being shot down so, we planed to attack on April 14th and now we were on the beach.

I actually learned that Commander Waffen and Ingrid were leading the large Xylvanian force.

The 3rd Tank Division was made up of several light and heavy tanks. I was given Delta Battalion to support the tanks.

Supposedly we were going to have artillery support but, that wasn't made very clear before we left.

The city was surrounded my large cliffs but there was a few entrances spread out throughout the cliffs.

"Alright I want all of the infantry to climb onto the tanks and stay there until we reach a good spot for camp" I shouted.

Everyone started to climb onto the tanks as the tanks started to form a
Column. I climbed on the lead tank with my squad and a few other men.

The column started to drive forward towards the cliff road.

The column drove slowly threw the narrow road. I looked around and saw the beauty in the rock formations.

Soon I could see the light at the end of the road and I noticed that there was still a wide open space between us and the Xers.

It was already getting late and the sun already seemed to be starting to set. "Alright were make camp here tonight" I shouted.

The rest of the tank drove out slowly and created a ring around the area for are camp.

I started to set up my tent and get my other stuff together.

I finished setting up my tent with some help from Joe after he walked by.

"So, what's been going on" I asked. "Nothing much" replied Joe. "Yeah" I said putting the last stake into the ground.

I opened up the flap and walked inside and put my stuff to the right while Joe put his on the left.

I set up my sleeping bag and layer on top of it. I starred at the top of the tent and thought about my plan for tomorrow.

"What's the plan for tomorrow" asked Joe. I turned my head and looked at him. "Well I'm not exactly sure yet" I replied sadly.

"Don't worry you will think of something" said Joe as he turned his head and went to sleep.
