7th Army Division; Delta BattalionI slowly shook myself awake to the sound of stomping boots. I was sitting in a small jail cell with a dim light above my head. Fear coated by mind like a thick black tar.
My stomach hurt and I felt like throwing up, but I held it in and sat behind the bars looking out into the darkness.
Out of the dark appeared a Xylvanian soldier. The adventure and glory that I had sought unceasingly by joining the army quickly were escaping and only fear remained inside my head now.
Serving my country was something I always wanted to do, but as the door opened I hoped my country would save me instead of me saving it. That would have been a wonderful change. But a change that never came.
"Get up you rat." said a voice. I looked up to see the Xylvanian soldier standing over me. I just sat there staring at him as if my eyes were cheated into seeing something that wasn't there.
I got up of the floor still half asleep. My stomach throbbed in pain.
Suddenly the soldier punched me in the stomach and I spit up some blood. He then put a bag on my head and started guiding me somewhere.
The idea that the place I was going was unknown to me scared me shitless. Fear of the unknown almost paralyzed my body.
All I thought about was where I was going. Then he took the bag off and I was in a small room. It had a table and 2 chairs along with a few soldiers and a small light behind one chair.
He threw me down into the chair closet to the light. "You stay here while I get the other rat." said the soldier who chuckled as he walked away. He went out to the cells to get another member of my squad. I assumed that's what he was doing, but the prison was so dark I could barely see anything.
No one from my squad had said a word to me after the battle as we hadn't seen each other sense then.
He returned with Eric, who was just as confused as I was. He put him in the chair across from me and walked out.
We stared at each other for a while. The soldier then came in with Colton and Josh. The soldier then walked up to the table and put a gun in the middle of the table. It was a Magnum 44. It had a six round chamber.
Now I was truly beyond scared I was frightened almost to the point of death. But death would have to wait for I would only go out on my own terms.
The Magnum was, so powerful that it could split a mans head in two; if fired at a close range. That fact continued to swirl around inside my mind failing to leave.
Fear completely overtook me and I wanted to scream, but I kept my mouth shut in terror.
A soldier then stepped forward. I guessed that he was there commander or something like that. I didn't really care enough to study him to find out. Their was two soldiers behind him and another soldier behind me. There commander then began to talk. "Welcome frontier scum." said the Commander. Today you are going to play a little game of Tundran Roulette. You probably know how this game works. Now there is one bullet in the gun and you must put the gun to your head and pull the trigger or we kill you. Whoever dies first loses, then we will bring in more men." Said the soldier.
I wanted to make a smart ass comment, but I keep my mouth shut fearing the consequences of those words.
He finished speaking and then sat behind Colton and Josh who had guns to there heads held by 2 Xylvanian soldiers. "Go to hell!" barked Eric. He then spat at the foot of one Xylvanian. The soldier behind me then walked behind Eric and grabbed his hair. "Fuck you; you bastards don't have the guts to kill me your just a fucking pussy." snapped Eric. The soldier then slammed his head into the table 3 times without mercy.
