"The healthy human mind doesn't wake up in the morning thinking this is its last day on Earth. But I think that's a luxury, not a curse. To know you're close to the end is a kind of freedom."

Outside of the Vladstag Perimeter
7th Army Division; Delta BattalionI stood in the camp waiting. Waiting for what seemed like hours, years at most, but that wasn't the case at all.
I was standing on a small hill over looking the camp; Thinking quietly to myself, humming a sweet quiet toon.
The blasting sounds of artillery could be heard shelling the Vladstags defenses.
I had been ordered by Austin to launch a final assault on the Vladstag with what troops the Army could muster.
Continuing to him my sweet song, I felt the wind blow and with it a voice spoke out of the darkness.
"I will see you on the battlefield Lieutenant." Said the voice. Immediately I realized who it was, but I didn't let it bother me.
I couldn't let it.
Slowly I closed my eyes and let the dark thoughts and voices fade from my mind. Gingerly the darkness left.
Now the wind began to to become steady coming from the east steadily.
It was cool and refreshing.
Silence covered the hill with peace and I decided to lay down in the soft grass.
Sadly however the silence was very short lived for the sound of bombers roared overhead.
I opened my eyes slowly and I stood up. My battalion had formed into ranks and were now marching down the road.
They were moving toward me at the hill.
I went back to thinking about the bombers. It was probably Jeremy and Quinn going to soften up the defenses.
Chuckling I thought of Jeremy and Quinn following orders.
Then I walked down the hill to meet up with the battalion. As I approached the column stopped and many saluted.
Quickly I saluted back and took my place in the march and we continued on toward the Vladstag.
The Tundrans had pledged as much as they could spare to the assault.
They had sent a squadron of gunships and 2 squads of infantry.
Both were some of the Tundrans best troops. It would be a honor to fight beside them.
Continuing the march we soon reached the Vladstags outer most gate.
Silence once again befell us all. We stopped marching shortly after we passed under the gate.
The tanks rolled in behind us and stopped behind us as well. I saw a group of Tundrans approaching and waited for them.
As they drew near they stopped and there Commanding Officer stepped forward.
"I am Captain Nikoli Putruvski am I am glad to be here at this hour." Said Nikoli. "Well it is my pleasure to be here with such great and honorable men." I replied showing my respect.
"Tzar Nova has told me of your valor and courage in the war." Said Nikoli sounding a little anxious to hear the stories. "I can not deny the things you speak of." I said.
"Then with you hear the Xylvanians will surely fall." Exclaimed Nikoli starting to walk away. "I hope so." I stated under my breath.
Turning around I faced my men.
