I have to tell you something

Gabby pov:
I woke up from a call on my phone, I answered it quickly so it didn't wake Matt up. I sat up at the edge of the bed.
-phone call-
Gabby: hello?
Doctor: hi this is dr halstead from Chicago med
Gabby: oh hi yes
Doctor: hi gabby, i just wanted to see if you'd be able to maybe come in this morning i need to go over something with you.
Gabby: oh um yeah of course.
Doctor: alright see you in a little bit
Gabby: alright
-end of phone call-
I put the phone back down on the nightstand and laid back down to see Matt looking at me
Gabby: sorry for waking you up
Matt: no it's alright, who was that?
Gabby: the Doctor... Um he wants me to stop by before shift
Matt: why?
Gabby: I have no idea
I looked at him concerned.
Matt: want me to go with you?
I shook my head
Gabby: no go to shift can you just tell chief I'll be a little late? I'll meet you there?
Matt: yeah of course
He leaned in and kissed eachother and then  we both got up and started getting ready, I grabbed my bag and he grabbed his, before leaving the house again he kissed me
Matt: i love you
I cracked a smile
Gabby: I love you to see you in a little while.
He smiled and we both got into our own cars and drove off. I arrived to the hospital and walked to the front desk and asked for Doctor halstead, I sat down in the waiting room for couple minutes and then halstead came out and got me. We walked into a tiny examine room.
Doctor: where's Matt?
Gabby: at work, I'm headed there after this, what's up doc?
Doctor: I don't think that's such a good idea gabby..
Gabby: why what's wrong?
I started getting really nervous, is something wrong? Should I have let Matt come with me go this appointment?
I looked at the doctor so nervous
Doctor: take a seat gab
I sat down on the examine bed
Doctor: after you left the hospital, me and some other doctors were just going over your tests and we noticed something in your blood panel.
Gabby: what is that supposed to mean??
Doctor: gabby..
He looked at me with a small smile
Doctor: gabby you're pregnant.
Gabby: what?
Doctor: you're pregnant gabby, congrats.
How am i even supposed to feel? Excited? Nervous? I need to tell Matt.
Doctor: im going to schedule you for a doctors appointment next week so we can check the baby out alright?
I nodded my head nervously and thanks the Doctor. I got to my car and drove to the firehouse. I tried to avoid everyone and just walk to the bathroom, Brett was in there.
Brett: hey Dawson
I looked at her shocked
Brett: hey you okay?
I nodded my head
Brett: gab? What's up? How was the doctors appointment?
Gabby: im-im pregnant..
Brett: omg congrats gabby
Gabby: I-I don't know what to do
Brett: I would go talk to Matt really... Hey I'm happy for you
She hugged me
I went to go find Matt.
Matt was sitting in his office.
I knocked on the door.
I'm actually scared I hope he's happy about this...
Matt waved me in
Matt: hey babe
Gabby: uh h-hi..
Matt: gab?
He looked at me confused
Matt: how was the appointment?
Gabby: can we talk?
Matt: yea of course, sit down, what's up?
I looked down and He looked at me with a concern look
Matt: you okay gabby?
He stood up out of his chair and sat down on the bed next to me in his office
Matt: gabs?

I looked at him
Matt: when we get back, we'll talk okay?
I nodded and we ran off to the truck and geared up and left.
We arrived to the fire. It was bad. And it could only get worse. The fire was coming out of the windows already and the smoke was turning black.

Matt pov:
The alarm went off and gabby and I ran to the truck, I really wanted to talk to gabby. I hope she's okay.
We arrived to the fire, it was bad already.
Chief; I don't want anybody inside.
A guy ran up to us
?: hey I don't think the Flemings got out, I don't see them out here
Chief; what floor?
?: 4th floor, room 18.
Matt: chief?
Chief: Herman Matt bring the hose. Severide Capp, go get the family out and then get out!
Casey: got ya chief.

Gabby pov;
The guys ran in. it was a while since we heard them over the radio. This was taking to long an i didn't like it at all.
I looked at chief who was staring at the building
Chief; guys report
Severide: the smoke is really bad up here chief.
Chief; I'm giving you 2 more minutes Herman: copy that.
the smoke was getting darker and coming out the windows
Gabby: chief it's about to-
BOOM. There was a big flash. I covered my head as glass fell all around. I looked around at everyone else covering their heads.
I had a concerned look on my face
I looked over at chief
Gabby: MATTT
I screamed
Chief: CASEY? SEVERIDE? REPORT?
The walkie was static
chief: HERMAN? CAPP?
Chief; SOMEONE REPORT???
we saw guys walk out we all ran up to them, but there was only three.
Chief: what happened in there?
Severide: the floor collapsed and everything went dar-
Otis: WHERES CASEY?
Gabby: where's Matt??!
Herman: I think he went in a little further for the kid.
Gabby; HES STILL IN THERE?
I looked at the building and then I looked over at chief.
severide: we'll get him!
Severide and Capp switched their air tanks and ran back in.
Severide: Casey is down, have ambulance assistance ready.
I looked down and took a deep breath. Brett and Herman walked over to me Oh my god this can't be happening.
Brett: it's going to be okay.
Severide and Capp came walking out carrying Casey's limp body.
Gabby; no no no
I ran over the the gurney they placed him on, his head was bleeding, it was bad. sylvie and chili started taking his jacket off looking for any extra injuries
Chili: we need to get him to med now.
Chief: go go!
Gabby; chief?
Gabby: go dawson, we'll meet you there.
I hopped in the ambo with them. Sylvie took off once the doors were shut.
Chili; it's a bad head trauma. Brett step on it.
We got to the hospital. Sylvie and Brett rushed him into the hospital and I tried keeping up with them but the nurses held me back, I tried struggling out of their grip.
Gabby: NO PLEASE LET ME GO WITH HIM
nurse: I'm sorry but you have to wait out here let the doctors do their jobs
Gabby; I NEED TO GO WITH HIM
I tried harder to go
nurse: you ha-
Brett came around to my side and stood infront of me.
Brett: gabby, you have to stay out here, let the doctors do their jobs. They know what their doing. come on.
I looked at her
Gabby: I didn't even get the chance to tell him...
I had tears in my eyes
Brett: you will, he will be okay.
  she took me over to the waiting room. The guys from the house started showing up after the fire was out, I stood up as they walked in
Herman: how's Casey?
I shook my head
Brett: nothing yet, they haven't even been out to talk to us yet...
Chief: their working on him gabby, let them do their jobs.
a nurse walked out, I walked over to her and the guys looked over
Gabby; is he okay?
Nurse: he's still in surgery, he had a really bad brain bleed from falling and they're working on him, I just wanted to come out and update you guys.
Chief: thank you,
Chief he nodded.
the nurse went back into the room and I just stood there. Severide grabbed my arm.
Severide: hey he's going to be okay, he's Matt Casey he'll get through it.
Herman: he's one tough guy dawson
Mouch: toughest one I know.
Gabby: he has to be okay.
A tear slipped down my face
Severide: he will be.
He held my hand and I sat back down. Hours passed. No news. I was getting so scared, this can't be good.  Finally after hours a doctor came out. I stood up and walked over to him.
Doctor: Matt had a very bad brain bleed, but we were able to stop it and fix it. He is in the ICU now and he should be okay. We are just waiting to see what happens when he wakes up.
I covered my mouth
Gabby: thank you. Thank you.
The doctor nodded and I turned around, I hugged Severide.
Chief: go see him dawson, we're going to go back to the house and change out, we'll be back in the morning.
I nodded and said goodbye to everyone. the nurse brought me down the hall that felt like forever, I walked into matts room. Seeing him laying there, on the machine beeping... I walked over the side of his bed and leaned down and kissed his forehead.
Doctor: you can stay in here with him, if you need anything page me, I'll be around.
Gabby: thank you so much..
He cracked a smile and walked out
I sat down in the chair next to his bed and grabbed his hand.
Gabby; Matt, wake up. Please open your eyes. Wake up and look at me. I have news for you Matt, you're going to be a dad and you can't just leave us now. Please
I rested my head on the bed crying while holding his hands. it's been about 30 minutes, I don't know if he can hear me. I don't know if he knows what's going on. I just need him to wake up. I lifted my head up and held his hand and kissed it in my hand.
Gabby; Matt, you gotta wake up for us...
I wrapped my arm around my stomach and started to cry.
