gabby pov-
-a week later
Still have to tell the firehouse she's pregnant.
We both walked into the firehouse holding hands together.
Herman: well look who is back!
The guys: ayee
Everyone stood up and walked over to the both of us and greeted Matt everyone was making small talk.
Matt: alright guys... There is something that we need to tell you all.
Everyone just froze in their spots
Cruz: is everything okay?
Matt nodded
Matt: everything is okay....
Gabby: I'm pregnant.
I looked out at everyone looking at Matt and I and to break the silence Herman said something
Herman: congratulations you two.
He came in and hugged us and everyone ended up congratulating us. Getting a bunch of hugs
Herman: you two are going to make amazing parents.
boden: can i see you both in my office?
matt and i both looked at eachother and nodded and followed boden into his office.

-a month later-
gabby pov:
i woke up laying in bed next to the love of my life, i placed my hand on my small baby bump that was forming. i stared up at the ceiling just thinking about everything. so much has been going on lately but everything has been so good. i was moved to arson since i can't work in the firehouse anymore but im there almost as much as everyone else is, casey and i have been getting along so well i think getting pregnant brought us closer, today we are off shift and going to a doctors appointment together, finally. ive been to the past two alone and i'm glad he is able to come with me this time. i rolled over and started seeing matt waking up, he rolled over and leaned in and kissed me gently on the lips.
matt: hey baby
gabby: morning
i cracked a small smile
matt: been up long?
gabby: no just started to wake up, i was just thinking about how lucky i am to have you.
i cracked a smile and saw a smile start to form on his face, he leaned in and kissed me again.
matt: you hungry?
gabby: you're asking a pregnant lady if she's hungry?
matt: true
he let out a laugh
matt: i'll go downstairs and make breakfast for us
gabby: okay, i'm going to shower and then ill be down.
matt: sounds good!
i watched him hop out of the bed and put a long sleeve shirt on and walk out of the room. i couldn't help but smile, i then got up grabbed two towels one for my hair and one for my body and walked into the bathroom and hopped in the shower. i took a decently fast shower, i put my hair up in and towel and dried myself off. i put a pair of black leggins on and sweatshirt. i then dried my hair and then walked downstairs to the amazing smell of bacon. i walked in the kitchen and saw matt finish making breakfast. i walked over to him and just wrapped my arms around his waist.
gabby: thank you so much for being amazing.
i saw him crack a smile.
matt: sit down ill bring everything over for you
gabby: you're the best.
i grabbed a cup of orange juice and sat down st the table, matt walked over with a plate of bacon and another plate of pancakes. he walked over to the counter to grab his coffee and then sat down across from me.
gabby: i can't wait to be able to have coffee again
matt: soon baby
he chuckled
gabby: not soon enough
he giggled and shook his head
we started eating together making small talk.
matt: so you excited for today's appointment?
gabby: yeah, and im really happy you're going to be there with me today
matt: me to,, im really sorry i haven't been there before, you know i really wanted to right?
gabby: of course i do, its not your fault baby, it's work, the crazy shifts, i understand. i don't blame you at all. i know you would be there if you could and im so happy you are today'
i let out a small smile and bit a piece of bacon
matt: what time is it today?
gabby: we should be there by 1, so we have a little bit of time!
matt: okay perfect. im gonna clean up here and then take a shower!
gabby: i can clean up, go shower babe!
i stood up and grabbed the plate off the table
matt: are you sure?
gabby: yes, i'm pregnant not broken
i let out a giggle and he stood up, i leaned in and kissed him and then he walked upstairs. i cleaned up in the kitchen washed the dishes put everything away wiped the counter and table down. a little later matt walked back down, wearing jeans and a long sleeve firehouse shirt. it's around 12:20 now
matt: maybe we should get ready to go, the roads are going to be busy because of the weekend.
gabby: yeah, i just need to grab my shoes
he nodded and i went upstairs and grabbed my converses from the closet and my jean jacket and walked downstairs grabbed my bag and walked out of the house with matt, we got into his truck and drove off, and of course matt was right and there was so much traffic. i reached over and grabbed his free hand. and he looked over at me and smiled, we finally made it to the doctors at 12:58. we walked in, i signed in and matt and i went to sit in the waiting room until my name was called.

matt pov:
gabby went to sign in at the front and then we both walked into the waiting room and sat down on the chairs until her name was called. i reached over and held her hand and held it in my lap.
the door to the waiting room opened and it was a nurse, she called gabbys name and we both got up and followed the nurse into one of the rooms.
nurse: okay you can take your shirt off and put this on, and the doctor will be in in a couple minutes okay?
gabby: okay thank you.
the nurse left, she put her bag down on the counter and took her shirt off and put the paper like top on and sat on the bed with her feet hanging over the side and i sat in the chair next to the bed. couple minutes later the door opened and the doctor walked in.
doctor: hey gabriela how are you feeling today?
gabby: pretty good actually.
doctor: that's good, and who do we have here?
gabby: that's matt, my fiancé.
i leaned over and shook the doctors hand
doctor: glad you could make it today
matt: me too.
doctor: alright gabriela, let's get started.
gabby leaned back and the doctor put some of the cold gel on her stomach, i reached over and grabbed her hand.
a little while passed and we could hear the heart beat, that just made me so happy, finally hearing the heart beat, i looked over at gabby and smiled to big.
doctor: so there's you baby, looking healthy.
matt: when can we find out the gender?
i smiled excited
doctor: it's still to early probably in 2 months. .
i looked at gabby who was looking up at me smiling.
doctor: there's the little feet and the head an-
i heard the doctor pause and stare at the screen and i just saw concern come over his face.
gabby: what's wrong?
i saw gabby look at the doctor
doctor: i'll be right back.
he looked at us and then walked out the door. gabby wiped the gel off of her stomach and put her shirt on.
gabby: matt
i looked over at her as she sat up and crossed her legs, i got up and sat at the foot of the bed
matt: hey it's okay, he'll be right back
gabby: what if it's something serious?
matt: we can handle it, you can handle it, i know that.
i squeezed her hand gently a little while after the door opened and the doctor walked back in with a couple sheets of paper in his hand, he walked over to the machines and grabbed the chair and sat down next to the bed where gabby and i were sitting.

gabby pov:
once the doctor sat down he looked up at matt and i.
gabby: what's going on?
i took a deep breath and grabbed matts hand.
gabby: is the baby okay?
matt: gabby, calm down
he squeezed my hand and rubbed it with his thumb.
doctor: right now the baby is okay but..
gabby: but what?
i gave him a begging stare.
doctor: gabriela, have you ever smoked before or had high blood pressure?
gabby: no? i mean i work with fire and it's stressful but i've never smoked in my life and ive always had good blood pressure.
doctor: have you been having any stomach pain or vaginal bleeding since you've been pregnant?
gabby: no.
doctor: feeling faint? vomiting, nausea or really thirsty?
gabby: ive been feeling fine. why? what's going on?
i looked at the doctor terrified
doctor: well in the ultra sound i noticed some concealed bleeding in the uterine wall.
matt: can this effect the baby? the pregnancy or gabby?
doctor: if it gets worse it can. you're not feeling any pain so that means it's not bad right now and that you're only in grade 1 and we want to keep it like that.
gabby: h-how do we do that.
doctor: we need you to be on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy, no work. not a lot of heavy lifting or walking for a long period of time and NO exercise.
gabby: but, i still have 7 months, i can-
doctor: do you want to lose this baby?
gabby: of course i don't but-
doctor: this is critical gabby, you can lose the baby if you don't follow the rules and if it gets worse it could effect you.
i looked up at matt so scared
matt: what do you mean?
doctor: if she doesn't follow what i'm telling her to, she could bleed more, go into shock, have a serious blood clotting complications. if it's gets really bad she can have poor blood flow and damage her kidneys and brain, there could be a stillbirth and worse comes to worse there could be hemorrhage during labor and neither her or the baby will make it...
i sat there still, shocked and with tears forming in my eyes
doctor: im not trying to scare you guys, but this is a serious condition, if you follow what i'm telling you to, everything will be okay.
i nodded and the doctor stood up.
doctor: alright on your way out guys, set up another appointment at the front desk for 2 weeks, just so you can come in and i can check on you again
gabby: okay..
matt stood up and shook hands and the doctor walked out, i wiped my face with the sleeves on my shirt.
gabby: this is exactly what i was scared of, why does this stuff always happen to me,, to us.
i sniffed and wiped my face again
matt: gabby..
i stood up and put my jacket on
gabby: can we just go?
matt nodded and i grabbed my bag, he opened the door and let me walk out first, we walked to the front desk and set up another appointment.
nurse: how is november 2nd?
i looked up at matt
gabby: can you take off that day?
matt: yeah i'll take the day off when we get home
he cracked a comforting smile and wrapped his arm around my waist.
gabby: okay the second is good
nurse: around 12 okay?
gabby: yeah!
nurse: okay awesome
she handed me a card that had the next appointment time on it
nurse: just sign out here and we'll see you guys in a couple of weeks.
i picked up the pen and signed my name
i cracked a small smile at the nurse behind the desk and then matt and i both walked out to his truck and he drove back to our place.
matt and i got home from the doctors appointment around 3, we both walked in with the shocking news still going through our heads. i have a 50% chance on losing this baby but i am going to do everything i possibly can. matt and i walked over and sat down next to eachother on the couch.
gabby: you know what? let's get married, we don't know what's going to happen. we have been engaged for a while, and we keep pushing it on the back burner for so many things, first it was us working together, then it was injuries, then the whole break up thing which we should never talk about
i let out a small giggle and reached for his hands
gabby: and now it's me getting pregnant. i just want to be married to you already, especially if something this bad might happen, i just want to spend as much time as i can with you
matt: gab-
gabby: wait matt please
i squeezed his hands gently
gabby: i want to be married to you. you're the love of my life. i want you, and that's all i want matt.
i bit the inside of my lip and he nodded and pulled me into a hug.
matt: whatever makes you happy baby
gabby: being with you does, and i hope it makes you happy to.
he pulled out of the hug and looked at me.
matt: being with you makes me so incredibly happy. i'm the happiest ive been in such a long time, you're my world gabby.
i cracked a small smile and he leaned in and gently kissed me.
i pulled away from the kiss and just looked st him
gabby: what are we going to do matt..
matt: everything we have to, to make sure you and our baby is going to be okay.
gabby: i know that, but i can't work and we aren't going to be able to make it on one income.
matt: i'll figure it out babe, i promise you. i will figure everything out and we will be okay.
i looked at him and rested my head on his shoulder.
gabby: i love you
we both spent the rest of the night together watching a couple movies on the couch. it was getting later. matt and i both decided to go upstairs and get ready for bed. we both changed and laid down in bed together, it was dark in the room and matt had his arm wrapped around me and i was playing with his fingers.
i let out a mumble
gabby: im really scared matt..
he lifted his head in his hand and i rolled on my back.
matt: there's no need to be scared, you and our baby is going to be okay and i'm going to make sure of that.
i bit the inside of my lip and he pushed the hair out of my face.
gabby: promise me if something happen to me that you're going to be okay, find a way to be happy again.
he let out a hesitant sigh and small nod
matt: but we aren't going to talk about this anymore, because nothing is going to happen to you. you're going to be okay. we are going to get married, and raise this baby together. everyone and everything is going to be okay. okay?
i nodded and he rested his body back down on the bed and i laid my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arm around me and held me in her arms and we both fell asleep together.
