Im pregnant

Matt pov:
I was starting to regain conciounous. My head was killing me. I was in so much pain.
Gabby: Matt you have to wake up for us.
I heard gabby. She was crying. I tried opening my eyes but it was to bright. I squeezed her hand to reassure her i was there.

Gabby pov:
I felt Matt squeeze my hand. I yelled out for a doctor.
Gabby: doctor!
The doctor came in
Gabby: I think he's starting to wake up
I stood up refusing to let go of his hand. Matt was starting to open his eyes. The doctors did some routine tests
Doctor: hey Matt how do you feel
He flashed the flashlight in his eyes
Matt: my head, it's killing me
He said squinting his eyes
Doctor: you had a really bad concussion Matt, I'll give you some more pain meds, it'll help with the pain.
Matt nodded and then they left the room. I sat down on the chair still holding his hand.
Gabby: Matt?
I wiped my face. He looked at me.
Matt: what happened?
Gabby: you were in a building there was a big flash and the floor collapsed. You hit your head pretty hard and got knocked out, but you're going to be fine
I let a smile out.
Gabby; you're going to be fine...
Matt: I'm always fine aren't i
He let out a smile
I looked down and then looked back up at him with tears in my eyes.
Matt: we need to stop getting hurt, were in the hospital more then we are home.
I let out a nervous laugh
Gabby:you really scared me Matt.. The whole thing reminded me of that day we lost shay, the big flash, the floor collapsing, not knowing anything for hours and I was so sure I was going to lose you to Matt
I squeezed his hand as more tears rolled down my face
Matt: hey hey hey I'm okay baby I'm okay.
Gabby: I don't want to lose you.
He cracked a smile and let go of my hand to wipe the tears off my face.
Matt: you're not going to lose me, I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere.
He leaned over and hugged me.
He pulled away from the hug and looked at me
Matt: hey where is everyone else?
Gabby: what?
Matt:When you were talking to me when I was out I heard you said something about an "us"?
I looked down at him and grabbed his hand again.
Gabby; that's all you heard?
Matt: yea I was just starting to wake up..
I need to tell him about the baby I thought to myself.
I got up and sat down on the side of the bed.
Gabby: before we went to the call you know how we were talking in your office?
Matt; yea?
Gabby: um.. I wanted to talk to you because im pregnant.....
Matt looked up at me and tried to Sit up on the bed
Matt: what really? Oh my god baby. That's amazing!

Matt pov:
Gabby: um I wanted to talk to you because I'm pregnant.
Gabby is pregnant. Oh my god. I'm going to be a dad.
Matts: what really? Omg baby this is amazing. I leaned up and kissed her, I wrapped my arm around her and hugged her. I'm going to be a dad. The thing I've always wanted is coming true. This is amazing.
Matt: I can't believe this is happening.
Gabby: so you're happy about it?
Matt: of course I am baby. I've always wanted kids. An to be having a kid with you is all I could ask for.
Gabby smiled and leaned down and kissed me.
Gabby: I love you Matt
Matt: I love you so much gabby, here..
I moved over a little and she laid down next to me. I wrapped my arm around her and kissed the top of her head and slowly fell asleep after.

Gabby pov:
Matt was so happy about the news of me being pregnant. He let me lay down next to him, he wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead.
I mumbled.
Gabby: thank you for being okay.
Matt: I'm never going to leave you.
He kissed my forehead again. I slowly fell asleep a little after that.

Matt pov:
I opened my eyes, it was bright in the room. I heard the doctor checking my IV bag. I rolled over and saw him, I sat up a little bit.
Doctor; hey Matt, how you feeling?
Matt: I'm feeling better, my head hurts still but it's better then yesterday!
Doctor: that's good. That's really good.
Matt: do you know when I'll be getting out of here?
Doctor: hopefully by tomorrow. I wanna keep you another day to watch you but if everything goes good, you'll leave by tomorrow night.
Matt: that's great thank you.
The doctor nodded. I looked down at gabby who was still sleeping. I leaned down and kissed her forehead.
I can't believe that I'm really going to be a dad. This is all I've ever wanted, and it's happening.
I couldn't help but smile over the fact it's happening.
I rested my head back down on the pillow and a little while later I heard gabby's phone go off. She jumped up quickly and reached for it off the side table.

Gabby pov:
I heard my phone go off, I jumped up quickly an reached for it off the side table before it woke Matt up, but that was too late.
Gabby; hello?
I whispered
Chief; hey gabby it's chief.
Gabby; hey chief!
Chief: i wanted to check in how's Matt?
Gabby: he's doing better, he's awake and he said his head is feeling better too which the doctor said was a good sign.
Chief: that's great! Hey some of the guys and I will be stopping by in a little while if that's okay?
Gabby; yea, of course chief!
Chief: okay, well we will see you soon!
Gabby: alright, see you soon.
I hung up and put my phone back on the table and turned over and looked at Matt.
Gabby: I'm sorry my phone woke you up
Matt: it didn't babe, I was awake, I was talking to the doctor earlier
Gabby: oh, what the doctor say?
Matt: I might be able to go home tomorrow night!
He smiled, I smiled
Gabby: that's great Matt.
I pecked a kiss on his lips.
Matt: what chief say?
Gabby: he wanted to see how you were doing! Him and some of the guys are coming by in a little bit.
Matt: okay
I sat up on the bed
Gabby: I'm really glad you're okay Matt...
I cupped his face in my hands
Gabby: I don't know what I would do if I lost you.
He pecked a kiss on my cheek
Matt: you don't have to worry about losing me gabby, I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere. I promise you.
I nodded and hugged Matt. I felt sick to my stomach. It must be the morning sickness.
I grabbed my stomach and hunched over a little bit
Matt: hey you okay?
Gabby: yea I just don't feel good..
Matt: morning sickness?
He giggled
Matt: the best part of being pregnant huh
Gabby: uhm
I felt like I was about to throw up, I ran into the bathroom that was connected to matts room. I felt like I just threw up my entire stomach.
I heard Matt yell from the bed
Matt: babe you okay?
Gabby: yep just great..
I heard him giggle.
I walked back out to Matt still holding my stomach
Matt: really you okay gabby?
Gabby: yea I think so.. I'm gonna go get some water from the cafeteria downstairs want anything?
Matt: whatever they have babe, get yourself something to eat to. You're feeding two now not just one
He smiled. I cracked a smile and walked out.
This is going to be a lot of work, I just hope I'm ready for all of this... I wrapped my hand around my stomach and went to the cafeteria. I grabbed two waters, an orange juice and a couple boxes of cereal and headed back to the room. Matt was sitting on the bed watching the tv
Gabby: so they really only had cereal boxes out right now, so I got myself Cheerios and I got you some fruit loops with orange juice
I giggle
Matt: wow I feel like I'm in 7th grade again
he laughed I sat down on the side of his bed and pulled the table over to come in between us so we had something to lean on.
I looked up at Matt eating his cereal
Gabby: Matt.. Can we talk for a second about the um the baby.. Like seriously.
he put the cereal down and looked at me
Matt: yea babe what's up?
Gabby: can we uh not tell anyone about this yet, until im further along and we know more an that everything i okay...
I looked down avoiding his eye contact.
Matt; of course gabby, hey everything will be okay.
Matt grabbed my hand
Matt: hey hey what's wrong?
I bit my lip and looked back up at Matt
Gabby; I'm scared Matt, I don't know what im doing. Are we really ready for this?
Matt: hey gabby don't be scared we are ready, we both want this. We will get through it together I promise you.
I nodded and Matt pushed the table out of the way and pulled me up to him and hugged me tightly.
Matt: we got this gabby, together okay?
I nodded again and looked up and kissed him.
Gabby; thank you Matt
I laid my head on his shoulder and he ate some more of his cereal while watching tv

Matt pov:
Matt: we got this gabby, together okay?
She nodded and looked up and kissed me
Gabby: thank you Matt, thank you.
She laid her he's on my shoulder and I smiled, I grabbed my cereal and ate more while sitting with my girl.
the door opened slowly and some of the guys from 51 walked in. Gabby sat up and chief walked in with severide Herman mouch Brett and chili. I sat up more
Gabby: hey guys
Gabby stood up
Severide: hey
They walked closer to the bed
Chief: hey Matt, how are you doing?
Matt: I'm good, feeling better honestly
Chief: that's good
Herman: what did the doctor say?
Matt: he wants to keep for the night hopefully be let go by tomorrow night
Mouch: that's really good
Chili: when do you come back to work?
Matt: not sure yet
I let a giggle out
I then noticed that gabby wasn't in the room

Gabby pov:
as the guys walked In and were talking to Matt I stood up, I walked over to Brett and asked her to walk out to the hallway with him.
Brett: hey gabby you okay?
I nodded
Brett: how do you feel?
Gabby: alright I guess
Brett: did you tell Matt?
Gabby: yea, he's really excited about it. He's always wanted to be a dad and it's happening. He's really happy.
Brett: are you?
Gabby: I am, I really am. But I'm scared Brett..
We walked down the hall and she stopped me.
Brett: hey scared about what?
Gabby: everything, the future with the baby... I just want everything to work out you know..
Brett: it'll be okay, I'll help you get through it too
I looked up at her.
Gabby: thank you Brett
I hugged her
Gabby: hey Brett... Matt and I don't want to tell anyone just yet, it's still early and we don't want to jinx everything so can you just-
Brett: hey don't worry, I won't tell anyone.
Gabby: thank you again
Brett hugged me.
Brett: hey you're going to be a mom, I'm so happy for you.
I smiled.
Brett: wanna get back to the room?
I nodded we walked back to the room and the guys were still talking to Matt
Matt: hey there you two are
I smiled
Brett: gabby and I just needed to talk
She smiled innocently
Chief: hey okay we should get going, shift starts in an hour and we can't be late!
Herman: hey keep us updated with everything okay man?
Matt: yea of course!
The guys started walking out and I stopped chief
Gabby: hey chief i-
Chief: hey stay with Matt, I'll find a cover for you. I'll have Herman cover for Matt and I'll get someone to cover for you.
Gabby: thank you chief
Chief smiled and walked out.
Brett: hey Matt feel better okay?
Matt smile and nodded
Matt: thanks Brett
Brett walked over to me and hugged me
Brett: I'll talk to you later, feel better gabby!
Gabby: thank you
I hugged her and she walked out

Matt pov;
Brett and gabby weren't in the room for a good 20 minutes I just hope everything's okay...
Everyone started leaving and Brett walked over to gabby, I heard Brett and gabby talking
Brett: I'll talk to you later, feel better gabby
They hugged and she walked out. Gabby walked over to me and sat on the side of the bed.
Matt: hey gab? You okay?
She nodded
Gabby: I'm good
Matt: you sure?
She nodded
Matt: does Brett know about you being pregnant?
I looked over at gabby
Gabby looked down and then looked back up at me
Gabby: she does but I didn't just tell her, I know I said I didn't want anyone to know yet but she was there when I found out, she went to the store with me, i didn't want to do it alone and I didn't want to tell you unless I was sure..
Matt: hey hey gabby it's okay, I'm glad you went to Brett and she helped you out, but hey I really want you to know that I am here for you. I know you need a girl in your life and that's Brett but I am here for you, you can come to me with anything okay?
She nodded
Knowing that she was really nervous to come to me worried me, but I do understand she needs a women in her life too.
Gabby: I know Matt, I know and I love you for that
She came and sat up next to me and she rested her head on my shoulder and I kissed her forehead.

Gabby pov:
I rested my head on his shoulder, I feel so bad that this is all about me when matts the one in the hospital bed.
I lifted my head and looked at him.
Gabby: hey enough about me right now, how are you feeling?hows your head?
Matt: I feel good, I'm feeling better. my heads okay. Really gabby. It's okay.
Gabby; you promise? You're okay?
Matt: I promise you that I am okay!
I nodded and kissed his cheek.
Gabby: I love you Matt
Matt: hey I love you to gabby
he kissed my forehead, I cracked a smile. Matt grabbed the remote to the tv and put it on, we watched tv for a little bit, I slowly started closing my eyes while watching tv.
I was tired. The whole sickness and worrying about everything was making me so tired and stressed which probably isn't good for the baby.

Matt pov;
I put on the tv and a little while later I looked down at gabby who was slowly falling asleep on my shoulder. I then turned the TV off and covered us up and closed my eyes.
A little while later I heard the doctor in the room, I opened my eyes and looked over at him as he was checking all my meds.
Doctor: how do you feel Matt?
Matt: honestly, I feel pretty good. There's not a lot of pain anymore. I feel a lot better.
Doctor: that's really good Matt, an the rest you're getting is really good to. If everything stays like this, you'll definitely be able to go home tomorrow.
Matt: that's great. Thank you!
The doctor walked out of the room and gabby started waking up.
Gabby: hey was the doctor just in here? What he say?
Matt: yes he was and he said things were still looking good, if it stays this way I will be able to go home tomorrow
I smiled at gabby
Gabby: that's great news Matt.
I leaned in and kissed him.
I smiled as she kissed me. He pulled away and I cupped her face.
Matt: how are you feeling?
Gabby: good, we're doing good
I saw she wrapped her arm around her stomach and smiled at me.
I looked at her a smiled.
Matt: I can't wait, to be a dad.
Gabby: you're going to make a great one Matt.
That made me smile even more.
Matt: and you're going to make an incredible mother
I leaned over and kissed her forehead and I heard the door open and I looked over and the doctor walked in.
Doctor: okay so good news Matt, I checked all your tests and stats and everything is where is should be. I'm am going to let you leave first thing tomorrow morning and you can return to next shift, but if anything happens, headaches or any hit on the head come see me just so I can make sure it's okay you know?
I nodded in agreement with the doctor

Gabby pov:
Hearing that Matt is going to be released next shift was great and relieving. But it's scary knowing he'll be home and back at work, and no one will be watching him. He won't be safe, I'm scared I can't lose him.
I looked at the doctor before he walked out
Gabby: wait, you checked everything? Everything is okay? He's okay? You sure?
Doctor: yes gabby, we checked everything we had he has fully recovered and is doing amazing. it wouldn't be necessary to keep him another night after tomorrow
I looked down and then back at the doctor
Gabby: you sure?
Doctor: I'm positive.
He smiled at me and walked out
Matt: gabby?
Gabby: im-im sorry i
I started getting teary eyed
Matt: hey what's wrong
Gabby: the fact that I almost lost you, I can't i can't go through that again. Especially now, with the baby...Matt. I can't lose you. I don't want to do this alone...
Matt: hey I'm not going anywhere
He pulled me into his arms
Matt: I'm not going anywhere gabby I promise you.
I wrapped my arms around him.
Gabby; I love you Matt
Matt: i love you to gabby
He kissed my forehead
Matt: everything is going to be okay, it's all going to be okay, I promise you.

Matt pov:
everything is going to be okay, it's all going to be okay. I promise you.
I rubbed her back. She was worried and I don't blame her. Our job is risky, it's hard to do. especially now that we're expecting a baby and shes just scared and doesn't want to have to face it alone and I totally understand. I need to be more careful with what I do now. I can't leave this baby alone with no dad, I know what it's like and it sucks. I would never want to put my child through that.
I look down at gabby.
Matt: I'm not going to leave you or this baby.
Gabby: promise?
I nodded
Matt: I promise you.
I think that made gabby feel better. It was getting late, we laid down and I leaned over and turned the lights off and fell asleep together.

Gabby pov:
I woke up from the shining light from the window. It was so bright. I sat up on the edge of the bed. Here it came. The sick feeling in my stomach I got every time I woke up and sat up. I ran to the bathroom lifted the seat and threw up. I guess my throwing up woke Matt up bc once I was done I looked over at the door and saw Matt standing there in the door way.
Matt: you alright babe
I nodded my head and leaned over. I flushed the toilet and pushed myself to my feet
Matt: here
He handed me a cup of water.
Gabby: thank you
I cracked a smile at him, I leaned over the sink and rinsed my face and my mouth.
Matt: better?
I nodded
Gabby: yea
We walked back over to the bed and the doctor walked in
Doctor: hey you two
Matt: hey doctor
The doctor walked over to check matts meds out, he checked fluids and his stitches.
Gabby: so..
Doctor: so Matt, you are looking really good. Your stitches have healed very quick. You haven't been feeling any dizziness when you stand up or anything like that?
I watched as Matt shook his head
Doctor: okay, and I need you to promise that if you do you will come back, because it could get worse if you don't.
I looked over at Matt and he nodded
Matt: got it.
Doctor; okay, then I don't see a reason to keep you here much longer. You're free to go. I'm going to grab you some discharge papers you have to sign and then you're set.
Matt: thank you
The doctor walked out and I looked up at Matt.
Matt: I'm okay
He kissed me
Matt: I promise you
He kissed me again
Matt: everything is going to be okay now
He kissed me again.
I leaned in an kissed him and pulled him into my arms and hugged him.
Gabby: I love you
Matt: I love you to gab
He kissed my shoulder while in the embrace of the hug
