Confident [Sequel To Élan]

Preface

Me and Zonnique stared at each other as we waited for her train to come. She was moving to California to take care of her real Mamaw. I sighed and squeezed onto my best friend's hand. When the train finally came, I threw my hands around her and squeezed her tight.

"Bahja I can't breathe..." Zonnique croaked.


"Sorry...heh. I'll just miss you so much..." I began to tear up.

"Don't cry Beauty! I'll be back in the summer time."

"But it'll be a long time until then!" I cried.

"Bee I promise I'll FaceTime you. But you have to promise you will keep in touch with me too." Zonnique hands were on my right and left shoulders.

"But-"

"Bahja be Confident. I know you can. You'll make it." Zonnique shook me softly.

"Last call for California train riders!" The train instructor yelled.

"I gotta go." Zonnique sighed and hugged me one last time. She then made her way onto the train with her luggage rolling behind her. Once she was safe and securely on the train she waved at me. I waved back and then started my way back to the car.

"She'll be back Bahja." G-Mommy Beverley said. I nodded and played with my fingers.

I'll miss my best friend so much.
