Twelfth grade isn't as fun as everybody potrays it to be. You got the always complaining teachers, irritating students, and the crusty, musty, nasty ass school lunches. The teachers all give you three projects at the same time, homework every night, and just everything. And you can't not do it because then you're setting yourself up for failure. I sighed as I slammed my raggedy locker closed and made my way down the hall. Rayan Lopez, yup I said his name, followed me like a dog. He's been so intrigued with me since tenth grade and that annoys the hell out of me. Like I can't go anywhere in school without him following me around like a lion chasing down his prey. I really couldn't do this anymore

"Could you stop breathing on my neck?" I rolled my eyes.

"You smell good." Rayan shrugged.

"Leave me the f word alone!" I practically screamed.

"You're such a goodie two shoes." Rayan chuckled.

"And you're such an annoying twit." I growled.

"You're growl is so cute. It's like a lion cub..." Rayan said.

"Could you just leave me alone!" I yelled out catching everybody who was wandering in the hall attention.

"Bahja what's wrong?" Chresanto said popping out of the crowd.

"He's so annoying! Gosh! Get him out my face." I snapped.

"Leave my fucking sister alone nigga." Chresanto's knuckles tightned.

"Damn nigga I'm just trying to have a little fun with her!" Rayan put his hands up in defense.

"Have fun with the millions of other girls in this school." Chresanto said.

Rayan smacked his left and turned around to leave. I continued to my home room which I was almost late to because of Rayan. Eck. I sat in my seat just before the bell rung and when the teacher said my name for attendance...

"Here!" I smiled pleasantly.

Chresanto and his girlfriend Faith strolled through the classroom door with two late passes in their hands. How much y'all want to bet those was forged by Lamar? Lamar is the school forger. He forges handwritting, school passes, lunch passes, detention slips, anything that can be forged, Lamar does it. Mrs. Winter took the two passes and smiled at the two. Chresanto smiled back showing his vampire teeth and then made his way to his seat with Faith on his arm. Oh wait let me tell you the story about Faith Hunter. Faith has been Chresanto's girlfriend since the summer of tenth grade and he met her at Winter Wonderland or as my ex-boyfriend now best friend (Don't ask) would call it, " The Light Carnival". Ever since then the two can't even be without each other for one minute. Don't ask how Chresanto goes to the bathroom.  I placed my mechanical pencil next to my bellwork journal since I was finished. Mrs. Winter looked over it and nodded her head in amazement.

"Mrs. Rodriguez you have a way with words. It's like you're really...confident." Mrs. Winter smiles warmly.

"Thank you Mrs. Winter." I smile back. "

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" Mrs. Winter pulls a chair up next to my desk.

"I want to be a pianist and a singer." I play with my fingers.

"Oh really...How about you enter the school's talent show?" Mrs. Winter asked.

"No thanks. I really don't like playing or singing in front of others." I crack a small smile.

"Oh come on Bahja!" Mrs. Winter pleaded.

"I'll think about it." I eased up on her.

I was still thinking about what Mrs. Winter said at lunch time. It never left my mind. I sat at my usual lunch table with Faith, Mia, Nana, Daja, Amurica, Angel, Janet, Kristine, Leeshae, Angel (We just call her Angie), and Skylar. These are my rounds. I met them after Zonnique left for California which was four months ago (All except Faith who actually knew Zonnique). But Nique will forever be my first best friend and sister. I played in my caesar salad with my fork.

"Bahja what's wrong with you?" Faith worried.

"I- nothing." I huffed and continue to play in my salad.

"You miss Zonnique don't you?" Faith frowned.

"Yeah." I sat my fork down in my salad.

"She'll be back in the summer time Bahj." Fiath smiled.

"I know, I know." I sighed.

"Well could you at least put a smile on your face?" Kristine smiled brightly as an example.

"Alright guys." I said smiling,

"That's better." Amurica patted my shoulder.

"Bahja! Bahja!" Chresanto ran over to our table with tears rolling down his face.

"What happened Chres?" I asked.

"Grandma...passed a-away." Chresanto took breathers.

I fell out my chair and started having a tantrum. The whole lunch room sat in silence as they watch me have a mental and physical break down. My friends didn't even try to comfort me because they already knew I was broken and there was no since in helping me because all I'd do is keep doing what I was doing. I cried and wailed until eventually I threw up in the trash can. I looked in the trash can. Blood...I blacked out.
