The darkness was starting to go away and I heard a faint beeping that grew louder. My eyes were closed but I could tell that I was in a hospital. I heard movement in the room and I felt someone grab my arm. It must of been a nurse because I could feel the latex gloves that covered their hands.

My arm fell back down on the bed and I heard the person move again. "You need anything?" I heard. Were they talking to me? "No thanks." I heard. The door closed and I could hear the monitor beep faster. It was me being scared due to the fact that someone was in my room. The beeping slowed down and I slowly opened my eyes.

I tried adjusting to the light and I looked around. The person that I heard was Jim but Lee was also with him. "Hey kiddo." Lee smiled. She walked up to me and moved a strand of my hair behind my ear. "How do you feel?" She said. I had no clue if I could talk but I slightly smiled to her. "You must be thirsty do you want water?" She asked and I nodded my head. She grabbed some water and handed it to me.

I tried sitting up but I felt pain and groaned. "Careful." Lee said. "Ow." I said barely above a whisper. Lee put some pillows behind me so I would be comfortable. "There ya go." She said. She stepped back and I drank some water. "Violet do you know how this happened?" Jim asked me.

I nodded my head and set my water down. "Did someone do this to you?" He asked. I nodded again and he asked who it was. "Tetch." My voice croaked out. "Tetch as in Jarvis Tetch? He did this to you?" He asked. I nodded my head again. "What did he tell you?" He asked.

"He said..I was his message. He said he..was going to kill the ones closest to you." I tried to speak. Lee and Jim looked at each other worried. "I'll send someone to watch her at all times." Jim said getting up. "I'll stay with her. She can come home with me when she gets out." Lee said. Jim nodded his head and left.

"You're forgetting..I lived with Jerome for a year." I chuckled. "No i remember it clearly but what do you mean?" Lee asked. "Jerome's taught me a lot. I know how to trick people, how to play games on them, how to turn them. I can find their weaknesses." I said. "You'll find out Tetch's weakness and use it against him." Lee realized.

"Jim's not gonna let you go near him." Lee said. "Who said I was gonna tell Jim?" I said.

I was in the hospital for two more days and Lee did as she said. She took me to her house to watch me. Jim had a few cops around her house to guard us. "I could've gone to my place. No one really knows where I live." I told Lee. Lee seemed to ignore me and asked me if I was hungry.

After I ate, she helped me cover up my wound and I got in the shower. I was careful to not get it wet. Afterwards, Lee gave me some clothes to change in. "We'll have to go to your house to grab some clothes. Or I could send the cops." Lee said. I was about to agree but I didn't want cops grabbing my bras and underwear. "How about we go get it?" I said.

We went to my place and she seemed a little surprised. "I'll be back." I told her. I went inside and directly went upstairs. I grabbed a suitcase and started packing my clothes. I also brought some of Jerome's clothes. Once I was done, I took the bag out to her car and we left.

The rest of the day, Lee kept a close watch on me, making sure I didn't try to leave. At night, I made sure she was asleep. It was late at night and I didn't hear anything so I quietly got up. I made my way to the door and slowly opened it. I tiptoed to her room and pressed my ear against the door. I didn't hear anything so I went back to my room and opened my bag.

I grabbed the gun I hid and stuffed it in my pocket. I changed my shirt and put on one of Jerome's sweaters that was a little big for me. I pulled the bottom over my pocket so it would hide the gun a bit better. I put on my shoes and made my way over to Lee's front door. I unlocked it and opened it.

I closed it behind me and then ran. I didn't know how but I was determined to find Tetch. I wanted him to pay for what he's done. I didn't know if I wanted to kill him. I was a bit mixed with my emotions.

I was walking down the streets of Gotham. It was quiet and mostly empty. I tried looking for a clue of where he might be. I tried to remember the room I was in but it was a blurry memory. I ended up in front of a gas station. It seemed to be open.

I walked in and went to the back. I grabbed some beers and a bottle of vodka and went to the front. "I'm sorry ma'am I can't sell them to you. You have to be 21 to purchase alcohol." The guy said. I sighed and pulled out my gun. His eyes widened and he held up his hands. "I guess I'll just take them for free then." I said.

I grabbed the box and the bottle and left. I opened the box and took out a can. I drank the beer as I walked. I didn't know where I was going. It was no use trying to look for Tetch when I had no idea where he was. I ended up in the park sitting on a bench.

The box of 24 beer cans was now a little more than half empty. The empty bottle of vodka was on the ground by my feet. A hiccup escaped my mouth and everything seemed to be spinning. I was drunk.
