Fists clenched tight slammed on the glass window separating him and her.

Separating him and the only person that matters.

Separating him and the only person that brought life to his days.

Him and the only person who seemed ruthless but let her walls done just to let him walk in her life.

Him and his other half.

The missing piece of his heart, who searched and seek since the 40s only to find its piece after years frozen on ice. The missing piece who made his heart flourished and blossom in endless spring.

"Bruce! WHAT THE HELL?!" he slammed his fist over and over again on the glass. Deep breathes were sucked in by the people behind him, as they closed their mouths wide agape. Fear flashed through their eyes, through his eyes. He was fearless, but this, he fear much.

"NO! NATASHA!" He shouted at the window. The rest were holding theirselves from tears that had threatened to stream down their faces from the start of this tragedy. They could only shake their heads in despair as they witnessed the scene they would never forget their entire life.

Wanda's eyes gleamed red, stepping closer to the window and into the head of Natasha Romanoff. She tried to find pieces of Natasha's mind, as a prove she was still there, alive. Wanda's hand trembled as she behold something she didn't hope for, something they never did.

All she could find was darkness.

No memories. No thoughts. No dreams. Just plain pitch black.

"No, no, no.." Wanda stuttered and stumbled back and dropped to the floor, grasping her head. The red flashed away from her eyes. "No,no,no...." mumbled once more and this time droplets of tears poured down. They all know what it meant.

Walls of the waiting room was pounded by Clint, his fists bruised swollen and bleeding on the impact. Purple marks on his fists but the pain didn't compare to this pain he needs to suffer right now. He can't bear the clenching ache in his heart. The pain that's consuming his heart whole. The loss of someone special. His best friend. His sestra.

Thor, who sat on the corner, had his cape off as he stared down at the floor. Thunders boomed outside the compound, the God of Thunder himself is in such a loss.

Bucky, Sam and Sharon standing close to each other. Bucky clenched his fist as his other hand went to face and cover it. He can't bear to watch this. He finally found her, lost her to someone else and now he lost her again.

Tony's eyes were red and were puffed, his hands under his chin propped on his knees. He let go of his ego at this very moment, at this moment when a piece of this team was snatched away from them on an unexpected timing, shattering them whole.

"Increase voltage," Bruce said with defibrillator in his hands, "all clear."

Electricity flowed through her, jolted her body upwards.

Silence.

The machine beeped.

Line was flat.

"No! Natasha, wake up! Please! Natasha!" Steve pleaded from behind the window as tears streamed down his face. His cries were desperate and pleading. How can he not? This was a moment he is not and never will be prepared for. "No... Natasha...Please...." He whispered as his legs went weak, closing his eyes and prayed she be alright. This, this moment right here is where his world turned upside down.

"Increase voltage," Bruce said once more hesitation in his voice.

"But, Dr-" one of the doctors said.

"Do it!" He insisted.

Another jolt sent through her body. For a second, seeming like forever, silence crept. For a second, Steve was hopeful. For a second, he wished for a miracle.

After a second, the machine went beeping. Line was flat. Her eyes shut.

"NO!" Steve shouted,"NOOOO!"

Bruce sighed and wiped a tear from his eyes, "time?" He asked one of the doctors and filled the papers.

"Noooo... No....!!!" Steve weeped and weeped he fell to the floor. The whole waiting room was full of tears and devastation lingered in the air.

In a blast, Steve ran out the door and into the next room. His world spinning in slow motion. There lies Natasha Romanoff. There lies his best girl. There lies his other half. Fire in her hair was extinguished, her mesmerizing green orbs hidden underneath closed lids.

Barging through the doctors surrounding her, who tried to drag him away from her, he grabbed her hand and sobbed beside her. He took her hand in his and intertwined it, the way he always hoped they can do each and every day. Bruce and the doctors left the room, giving them some privacy.

"Natasha.. Tasha.. It's me Steve," he said in between sobs as he brushed her lusterless hair, "I need you to wake up, please," he stroked her cheekbone,"I want you to know, I'm so sorry for all this," then he traced her jawline, "please wake up, and-and I'll take you to an actual date. Okay? We can go dancing or go watch a movie, you name anything and I'll give it to you. Just please, wake up,"he traced her face, every edges, every crooks, every curves. Memorizing all. His endless river of flooding tears never cease to make its way down his face.

He never thought life would pull them apart so quickly. He thought, if it did, he'll be the one to go first. He was wrong. Dead wrong. He wished he was right.

She was a piece of a puzzle and he was a puzzle missing its piece. She was the water in the ocean and he was an ocean without water. She was the cold in the winter and he was a winter without cold. She was a cloud of the skies and he was a sky who was missing clouds. She was Natasha Romanoff and he was Steve Rogers missing his Natasha Romanoff.

They were two of a kind. Joined together to become something more. Just like a puzzle that can't be called a puzzle if it lacks a piece. Just like an ocean that can't be an ocean if there weren't any water. Just like winter that can't be called winter if the cold isn't there. Just like the skies which is incomplete without the clouds.

His heart was taken away from him, smashed into pieces, shredded into dust and handed back to him.

He's broken.

She's gone.

Who will fix him?
