Emotions are what makes us human, especially love. Caring for other individuals keeps our humanity intact. But, what's Peri to think when the very fervor she's been dreaming of feeling for another human being, is incited by her half brother Nathan...
My apologies guys, my phone broke yesterday and I literally spent all today getting a new one, but alas! With that being said I made this chapter a bit longer. The Saturday update will still happen on Saturday, despite this chapter being a day late.

"What happened, you two get into an argument or something?" – Arson
"I'm surprised that this is the first time we're meeting, Peri." Janiyah expressed, holding a forkful of her food below her mouth to do so. I nodded in agreement, noticing how we've heard plentiful about each other, and yet, this is the only time I've seen her face to face. "Leave it to A.R, and I would have never met any of his female friends."
"My friends ... yeah," Arson slyly repeated, but only Nathan and I caught on to what he meant by it. Obviously, he's never told Janiyah about how we've been intimate, but I guess it doesn't matter. "why do you think that is, Niyah?" He turned to her in their side of the booth, while Nate and I just observed from ours.
The four of us had decided to meet up at Applebee's for dinner, for more reasons than one. A, nobody wanted to be in the house, and B, we look at each other as good company. We all thought that it was a good idea, but in hindsight, it probably wasn't.
For the simple fact that Arson and I had a fling, unbeknownst to his girlfriend. This isn't something that I would admit to anyone, but being in the same booth with two men that I have once been attracted to also didn't help.
"I don't know, maybe it's because you knew that as soon as they met me, they would instantly like me better." Janiyah joked, the irony being so painful that I just wanted to say something about it.
"What do you think, Peri, is it possible for you to like her more than you already like me?" Arson inquired, and I rolled my eyes with a smile since I saw what he was try to do.
"Maybe..." I trail.
"Oh, so you swing both ways now?"
Our conversation was cut short by Nathan bringing up middle school, which naturally turned into a shit show for Arson. He was fine with us joking about it, though, so I didn't really pay any mind to anything else. Well, actually, I was paying close attention to something else, or rather, someone else.
I watched from a few inches away as Nathan interacted with everyone at the table. The way his eyes squinted slightly as he laughed, and especially, how he licked his lips after each chuckle.
I found myself trapped in this gaze, one in which I'm sure neither of us would have a problem with. But he was still unaware of how hard I was paying attention to his lips, or at least I thought. I looked away from him, and down at my food while he spoke with Arson. I picked up my fork in order to eat my food, and I was caught off guard by him placing a hand on my exposed thigh. It made me furrow my brows, and wonder why he was trying to comfort me with his touch.
