Emotions are what makes us human, especially love. Caring for other individuals keeps our humanity intact. But, what's Peri to think when the very fervor she's been dreaming of feeling for another human being, is incited by her half brother Nathan...

"You were just too drunk to notice." - Asher

"Mom, please, can you just leave?" I plead, trying my best to escort her off of the porch. But she wouldn't budge, she kept trying to give me tips and pointers on how to run the party. As if I wouldn't know how to throw a successful one.
"-Make sure nobody touches the vase in the dinning room, matter of fact, put it under the kitchen sink. Don't stay up too late, and don't let the house get dirty." She spoke, just as we had finally made it to her car that was situated in the drive way.
"Don't worry, I got this, go." I say, trying my best not to explode on the woman for sticking around too long. Everyone knows that not having parents at a party is party 101, so imagine how nervous I felt at the fact that she was still here.
I stayed in the same spot and watched as she started her car and drove down the path. With one final honk she was gone, which meant that this party had officially begun.

I remember, I remember it all so clearly now, right after my mom left, things just went downhill. I mean I'm pretty sure I danced on a few tables, as well as, a few other guys. But that's a question that won't be answered, I'll just shove it to the back of my brain.
"I drank so much......" I trail, running my hands over my face, but that's when it dawned me. "I drank so much ... ELI I DRANK SO MUCH." I then throw my covers off my body and jump out of bed. I was going to be in so much trouble if what I'm thinking is true.
"Yeah? What's wrong with that?"
"If I drank a lot, then there was beer, and you want to know what beer + a party equals? A MESS." I frantically explain, trying to find my other matching sock. Eli decided to do the same as I, and got out of my bed.
"Don't worry, if it's bad then I'll just call over some people to help in the clean," He assured, throwing his blue shirt over his head. Which reminded me about something else that I still couldn't piece together.
"Eli why were you shirtless and pant-less in my bed?" I calmly question, knowing that the answer can't be that bad since he did say that we didn't have sex or anything like that. But it still made me wonder.
"It was hot in here, I think you said your air conditioner was broken. So I just took my clothes off ... I hope that was alright." He explained, looking over at me to observe my reaction. But I was fine, since it does seem really warm in my room at the moment.

Everyone who was invited, managed to show up on time. Xavier took a bit longer to get here, but I was honestly just happy that he was here to begin with. When I actually got downstairs to survey what mess had been made, I was a bit overwhelmed.
