Emotions are what makes us human, especially love. Caring for other individuals keeps our humanity intact. But, what's Peri to think when the very fervor she's been dreaming of feeling for another human being, is incited by her half brother Nathan...

"What about me, would I have not benefited from knowing that you don't give a fuck about me?!" - Nathan
After school, I walked quietly to Nathan's car. I was waiting until now to confront him, since he was still upset with me, he probably would've walked away if I did it at any other time. This way, he was trapped in the car, so he had no other choice but to listen to what I had to say.
When I got there, he stood up against it, talking to Nicolai, the redhead that I met a while ago. Our acquaintanceship was through Roman, so I don't know if we're still comfortable saying hi and bye. I wasn't about to sit here and find out, so I pulled on the handle to Nathan's car, but it was locked.
Nate turned around mid conversation, to see who was trying to get into his car. I gave him a blank look, and he unlocked the door without any words. I got inside, and just sat there, an attitude evident on my face. He soon followed after, and didn't even begin to look in my direction.
The air was unbelievably thick, and my stubbornness wasn't alleviating it at all. I waited until we were out of the parking lot, and on the highway back to our house to speak. Since then, there wasn't any turning back.
"Nathan, why are you telling people my business?" I question, cutting right to the chase, but Nate didn't seem to care.
"What?" He replied, knowing exactly what I just asked him.
"You heard me, why did you tell Farrah about me and Arson?" I elaborate, hoping to jog his conveniently fading memory. "That doesn't concern you, or her, so what was the reason?"
Nathaniel shrugged from my left, being a complete dick. I couldn't believe how careless he was about this. "Was she not supposed to know? Here I thought that was a secret you were only keeping from me. But I stand corrected, you keep shit from all of your friends I guess."
I wasn't expecting his tone, so I gasped slightly. "First of all, who are you to tell me about how I treat my friends? I keep shit from them because they wouldn't benefit from knowing." I then explain, watching as he took the exit off of the highway.
"So Roman, the guy who's still hooked on you, wouldn't have benefited from knowing that you moved on? What about me, would I have not benefited from knowing that you don't give a fuck about me?!" He yelled back, trying to concentrate on the road. It was hard to do so, since he was passionate about this topic.
"Whatever happens to Roman isn't any of my business, you know that. As for you, Arson and I aren't together, nor do either of us have feelings for each other. So stop being a dramatic fuck and creating problems where there aren't any!"
"Me, dramatic? Not right now, Nathan, it's too soon. Whatever, the only thing that I wanted from you was for you to be honest with me, and stop avoiding the truth." He corrected.
