Getting a job at SPR

~(y/n)'s pov~

It was a Friday morning and I have just left the house to go to school. I was walking past part of the old schoolhouse, which has been cornered off because it is dangerous to be anywhere near the building now. I got into school and I walked to my class to start my first lesson.

~time skip to the middle of class~

I was sat at my desk when the teacher called out to me. At first I thought I was in trouble, but then she said something I didn't expect. "(Y/n) you have got a phone call at the front desk." Said Mrs Right.

I stood up from my seat and left the classroom and went to the front desk. That is where I saw Mai. "Hey Mai is everything okay?" I asked her.
"Ye. It's Naru on the other end of the phone." Mai replied.
'Why would Naru be calling here. I don't understand.' I thought.

Mai then handed me the phone. "Naru wants to speak to you as well." Mai said. So I took the phone off of her and answered.
"Hello."
"Hello (y/n). I have called to give you and Mai a job. You see there are two places free and they are perfect for the both of you." Said Naru.
"Okay. Well you know what my question is going to be." I replied.
"You will start today after school. Let Mai know." Said Naru and with that he hung up.

I turned to look at Mai. "We have to be a the SPR building today after school to start our job." I said. Mai looked at me a bit shocked then because really happy with the fact that she can work at SPR.

~time skip to the end of the school day~

I walked out of my lesson and I went to Mai's lesson to wait for her because we are going to be working together now. So it is only fair I wait for her.

After a few minutes Mai walks out of her class and she nods to me. "Well let's go." I said to her and we started walking away from school.
"So (y/n) do you have a crush on someone​?" Asked Mai out of the blue. "Huh. What? Why would you think I have a crush on someone?" I asked in a rush.
"Oh I don't know. It just that I have noticed that you and someone else are always around each other. For example, in the schoolhouse you were leaning by the door and they were next to you. Then there was that conversation between you and he said something about you not bei---" Mai continued on until I interrupted her. "Wait a minute you listened into a conversation between me and someone else. Mai that could have been really important." I said a little annoyed.
"Was it?" Mai asked.
"Well kind of." I replied with a faint blush on my cheeks. "Besides don't you have a crush on Naru." I said trying not to laugh.

I looked at the building we were by and noticed to was SPR. So me and Mai both walked up to the door and walked in.

Obviously we didn't know the others were in there. So they heard that I had a crush on someone. "Come on (y/n) there must be someone you have a crush on." Said Mai.
"Mai not the time or the place any more. So drop the subject." I said while I opened the door to see that Monk, Ayako, Naru, Lin, Masaku, and john were all sat down.

~John's pov~

I heard (y/n) and Mai talking outside of the door. Well I think everyone did because it went really quite so that we could hear what they were saying. "Come on (y/n) there must be someone you have a crush on." Said Mai.
"Mai not the time or place any more. So drip the subject." Replied (y/n) in that very calm voice of hers.

(Y/n) opened the door to see that Monk, Ayako, Naru, Lin, Masaku and I were all sat down. (Y/n) walked over and stood in front of all of us. "Mai, (Y/n) take a seat." Said Naru. (y/n) took the empty seat next to me and Mai to the one next to monk.

I looked over at Mai and she seemed to have a devilish smirk. 'I wonder what she is planning.' I thought.

I look over at (y/n) and see that she is also looking at Mai, but she had that calm look on her face. 'This tells me they are both planning something and it isn't going to go well.' I thought.

I then noticed that the others. And who I mean by others, well Monk and Ayako, were looking between (y/n) and Mai.

(Y/n) then looked away and looked at me and the others. "So what's going on." Asked (y/n).
"I want to ask you. How did you know about poltergeists and ghosts?" Asked Naru.
"When I was younger I did some research on ghosts and poltergeists. It was just a hobby of mine. Nothing to important. Why do you ask?" Said (y/n).
"Interesting. Very interesting." Replied Naru.
"How was your day at school." I asked trying to change the subject.
"School was okay. Boring practice exams and all that stuff. But I'll be finishing school soon." Said (y/n). "That's good. What about you Mai." I asked.
"Just boring lessons. Nothing that I would miss." Mai said.
"How was your day John." Asked (y/n). "It was good. Thank you." I replied smiling at her. In which she returned the smile.

"I now know who you have a crush on." Shouted Mai.
"What?" Me and monk said at the same time.
"I now know who (y/n) has a crush on." Said Mai.
"And who would that be." Asked (y/n). "John. You have a crush on John." Said Mai.

I looked at (y/n) and she looked at me and we both blushed and looked away. "W-why would you think that." Stuttered (y/n).
"Because you are blushing and you just stuttered." Said Mai a little bit to cheerful.
"Whatever." Whispered (y/n). 'Could she have a crush on me. I think I gave it away that I have a crush on her. I don't know. The others seem to notice.' I thought.
"Well this has changed subjects quickly." I said.
