"Onyx wake up." Jasper and Dakoda were crouched at the foot of my sleeping area. "What time is it?" I rolled onto my back and rubbed my eyes stretching. "It's sometime after midnight. Let's go run." Dakoda spoke and tugged on my foot. "I want to sleep." I grumbled out. I heard them sigh. "We think there are sentinels in the area." Jasper whispered. I shot up and looked around. "Why didn't you say that in the first place?" I shuffled out of bed, throwing on a black top wrap that covered all but my mid section and leggings. "The baby. Who has her?" I asked Jasper. "Violet is downstairs with her now. We have to go." I pulled out a thin bladed knife, slipping it into my belt and shutting the door behind me to my room.

We took the steps two at a time, putting out candles on our way down as to not create so much light. "I'll take the side alley, you guys split, one down the main road and one down the creek." I cought Violets eye on my way out. The hot hair stuck to my skin and lungs. I slid into the side alley sticking to the walls and crouching low. I could hear voices, none of which I could understand. I glanced up at a ledge, bringing my body up and gripping the ledge. I crawled to the roof, glancing over the edge. "The Unseen ------ can't be ------ go-----." I caught bits of the sentinels conversation. Two would be an easy kill. I crept back over to the alley, dropping down and crawling to the mouth. One walked past and I wrapped my arm around his throat, bringing him down and snapping his neck silently. I ripped his tags off and stuffed them into my leggings. The other stood facing me, glancing around every now and then. I pulled the blade from my pants, sticking to the walls I moved forward. His eyes locked with mine, fear on his face as he pulled a blade out. "State - state your business!" He called to me. I stood and walked forward. I placed my hand on his and pushed the knife down. "Im just passing through, I got cought up on my way to work." He looked me up and down thoughtfully. "Very well." He sheathed his blade, looking away from me. I plunged my hand forward, the blade easily sliced his skin in two, the warm blood cascaded down my arm. I ripped his tags off and put those in my leggings as well. I pulled my knife out and let his body drop. Jasper came up behind me. "Those were the only two in the area. I'll take care of them." He heaved the body over his shoulder and walked into the tree line. I walked the short distance in silence. Violet stood on the front porch area. "What happened. Are you hurt?" I pushed past her to my room, collecting clothing and leaving the house again for the lake.

I took the baby from her on my way out. "Onyx where are you going!" I waved her off. The lake water was warm, and I stripped both me and Anouk. "I'll go get my lines after a bath, sounds good Anouk?" Her blue eyes met mine. I stood waist deep in the water, dipping back and washing my hair out. Crimson blood still decorated my arm, and now the baby's body. Her arms flailed around. I dipped her in the water, splashing it up her sides and over her hair. Foot steps sounded behind me. I hugged Anouk to my chest and turned to face Violet. Her hair was tossed around, her eyes wide open as she took in my naked frame.  "You can't just leave like that! What happened." I turned away from her and finished cleaning Anouk. "Nothing major happened." I walked out the lake with a little sway in my hips. Her hand made contact with my rear and I gasped. The sharp smack of skin on skin hung in the air. "Go home and go to bed. Stop fucking off." Violet left with those words. I stood dumb struck, dressing the baby and myself and rushing home.

I slid Anouk into Jaspers room and rushed into mine, undressing all the way and tossing myself onto the furs. The room was dark, and I could only hear Violet come in. Her fingers traced my back muscles like she has done countless times. "You are stubborn. And no one is here to put you in your place anymore." She whispered. "I don't need a leader." I flipped away from her. "Don't fight me. Let me treat you well Onyx." Her fingers met my hair and she yanked back. My head lifted off the ground and her lips crashed into mine. "You shouldn't be on top all the time, it's bad for your ego." Violets hand slid down my back, around my rear and plunged into my center. I choked out a sharp gasp. "You are mine. Mine to play with and to toss around." I pushed my hips up into her hand without thinking about it. My body shuttered and I screamed out. Her hand left me, but she slid next to me bringing my limp body to hers.
