“I Heard her dress is stunning” two women walked passed me “Her father had it made in Paris and shipped here

“I’m waiting to see brae and I’m hoping he’ll take a dance with me” her friends smiled

“All the boys her want to get on Stars dance card, my brother has been getting ready for tonight since brunch” they both started to laugh.

“I heard she’s been seen walking with Seth Vandes every Sunday now for over a month… ALONE” she emphasized the alone “no chaperone”

“You look so grown up, so beautiful” a Man stepped forward his eyes creasing at the corners as he smiled his eyes moved from one of my brother to the other before looking back up the staircase where my Father was standing smoothing his hand over his bread

“She has caught the eye of my sons” My father smiled the same satisfied smile Marco still held on his face

“So I see” the tone from the male was flat “Seth, Marco I’ll take my daughter now, after all every father should have a dance with their little girl when they come of age” he held out his hand to Star she took her arms away from Seth and Marco and smiled at her Father with so much affection in her face

“As Long as we still get to dance with the belle of the ball” Marco leant on the post at the foot of the staircase, Stars Father rounded on him quickly

“Of Course” Gregor smiled walking down between then and looking at Marco something flashing behind his eyes, he turned back to Stars Father “after all she’ll be a fiancée soon enough” Stars’ eye brows shot up as she looked at him and I saw Seth take a deep inhale of air and look down as Marco licked his lips as Seth looked at her and smiled

“Gregor I said not tonight” the woman on Brae’s arm stepped forward “You will obey me and respect me in my own home” she held a smile on her face but anger and hate was in her eyes “I’m not to be toyed with” a flash lit the room from outside as lightning cracked the air

“Of course my dear Astra” Stars Mother stiffened and her Father stepped forward “I’m sorry… Rose” a smile lit my Father face as his hand went over his heart and he bowed his head “but the truth must be told”

“Do not test me Gregor” thunder clapped making women shriek a little

“No test just…” He stopped as silver light glowed in her eyes

“Star, People are waiting for us to Dance” her Father wanted a distraction “Brae I think you should dance with your Mother”

“Of Course… Mama” Braes hand was inside his jacket a weapon visible under his hand before he let his jacket fall over and cover it, I tried to move to warn my family but I couldn’t I was just on the outside looking in to memories.

Marco never lifted his eyes from her hungrily looking at her like Mia had looked at Iagan earlier when he was bare skinned. Seth glanced in my direction for a moment as if sensing I was there before he dropped his head to my Father’s Ear.

“You have to reign in Marco Father” Seth hissed “She is not his to take”

“Your Brother is playing with what will be his sister-in-law even if it is for a short time my son” Father looked at Seth “You know what is to be done. We need to have a pure Immortal child”

“Perfectly” his voice was angry; he turned on his heel and walked away leaving my Father and Marco

“Well practice makes perfect right” Marco clapped his hand on fathers shoulder and pushed off walking across the room with confidence heading to where Star was now talking to friends…..

“What keeps happening?” I asked my voice shaky
