……………… Anya was in the room when we got there straightening things up Robbie was leaning in the hearth remaking the fire.

“Mo Bhean” Anya Bowed her head to me

“What are you doing out of bed” I walked over to her “You are not fully well”

“I need to walk around” she kept looking down “So I thought I would begin my duties”

“Robbie”

“Yes Mo bhean” he walked over to me

“Take Anya back across the hall and keep her rested and entertained until I come to help her heal later” He smiled and nodded.

“I told you” he laughed at her as she straightened up

“I know” she sighed “First May I lay you out some clothes?” she looked back at me

“That’s fine” Iagan butted in “We’re walking in the grounds” Anya nodded at her brother and walked away to the closet and brought out a long dress boots and a heavy velvet cloak.

“Turn away” She instructed looking at both Robbie and Iagan “NOW” she tapped her foot and made me smile as both of them turned away and she helped me undress and redress “Okay” they both turned back as I fastened the clip on the cloak “If you’ll excuse me Mo Bhean I’ll go lay down for a while” she looked pale I nodded and looked at Robbie who walked over and offered his arm to Anya and walked her from the room.

“Are you not changing” I looked at Iagan

“No I’ll just grab my cloak and then we can leave” he reached for the heavy wool Cloak from the back of the couch and swirled it through the air as he draped it round himself ”Mo Bhean” he offered me his arm we walked down the stairs and out into a stone courtyard the sound of Metal hitting metal rang through the air.

“What is this place?” I asked as I watched men wielding weapons clashing with one another

‘Another place to train” Iagan explained “They are the best of your Father’s Warriors”

‘I thought that was you” I smiled

“They are the best army warriors… I and a Guardian and yes I have trained like then but I have more…” he hesitated “Honed one on one skills” he looked at me as the men noticed we were there and they stopped and dropped to their knees.

“If my father has and army of fighters then why does he need me?” I frowned Iagan moved in front of me and lifted the hood on my cloak

“I do not know the Why” Iagan looked down “I only know betrayal hit your father hard and he lost all his sons in one way or another” I closed my eyes “You are his Inion you are special to him for reason it’s not for me to wonder”

“Not for anyman to wonder” I sighed as we walked through the kneeling men Iagan pushed opened an wooden gate and led meout into a mist shrouded walk way. I took his arm again as we walked the stillness of the air gave and uneasy feel to everything. “Is it always so grey?”

“No It’s winter” he laughed “the mist hangs heavy in the air for days on end chilling to the bone” I shivered “I will not keep you out to long… I promise” the anger and fight from the training room was gone and as if it had never happened Rain began to fall lightly to begin with then becoming heavier the wind swirling and picking up the edges of the heavy cloaks we wore. “We need to take shelter” his fingers linked with mine as the wind began to howl.

We both started to run toward a large stone building heavy wooden doors blocked the entrance, Iagan dropped my hand and used all his strength to pull open a single door, a warm fresh scent filled my lungs as I inhaled a sweet light smell. I stepped on to the cobbled floor lanterns hung from wooden stalls, the creatures that filled the stills munched sleepily on the feed in front of them. I walked cautiously over to the first and touched it’s long grey nose it nudged me as I rubbed.

“His name is Luchtain “ Iagan walked over “He’s a strong horse so I named him after an Irish god of war” the horse pawed the ground making me back away “He’ll not harm you mo bhean he knows you’re my… well he knows that I’m your guardian he can sense it”

“He’s beautiful” I murmured running my hand down his long hard neck “What does he do?”

“He carries me on his back and rides like the wind blew outside” Iagan walked down the other side of Luchtain running his hands firmly over the glossy silver coat.

“Will he carry me also?” I was wide eyed marveling at the creature

“He may one day… but his will not be going where we will go soon” Iagan’s hand collided with mine “But he will be mine and he is also yours my lady” he bowed his head. “Let’s go sit he gets grumpy if he doesn’t eat” I followed Iagan to the back of the stable where bales of hay we’re stacked.

“Why would you not answer my question… and before you tell me I do not need to know the answer I think I can judge that for myself and I do want to know” I added

“I did answer the question and I told you I wasn’t scared of anything” he paced a little as I sat.

“I know but why did my dream bother you so much?”

“Because I sense it the same way you sensed what I did in the library” he shook his head “I do not know how many other ways to tell you I am your guardian and it has to be about you not me Kendra” his brow furrowed “It has to be about you” I got up from the hay and walked over to him

“Why did you go after Robbie the other day after I kissed him?” I tipped my head

“Because no man is to touch you or look upon you unless you ask” his eyes fixed on mine “I am to see that they all obey that order.

“And I said at the time what happens if I was the one doing the touching?”

“Then I will have to step away” he dropped his eyes.

“I sensed what you dreamt of the other night Iagan” his eyes returned to mine quickly “I know who you dreamt of” he slowly shook his head at me. My hands lifted to his face “You were jealous of the dream I had with Brae… you didn’t like I kissed Robbie and then told you not to hurt him didn’t you?” his jaw twitched “I have to learn Iagan, I need to know” my words were a murmur as his eyes closed as I got closer to him before I pressed my lips to his…………
